The tubular portion has an inlet and an outlet. The system includes liquid quality device. The liquid quality device includes a partitioning portion. The partitioning portion has a first region including a funnel shape with a sump inlet aperture. The partitioning portion also has a second region including a sump outlet aperture and optionally a sump access aperture. A sump region is located between a base portion and the partitioning portion, wherein a flow of the liquid travels from the inlet in the tubular portion, into the funnel, through the sump inlet aperture, into the sump region, through the sump outlet aperture, and out the outlet of the tubular portion. At least one drag-inducing portion is positioned proximate the tubular portion in the sump region and projecting inwardly towards a central axis of the sump region.

  • Patent number: 10304238
Abstract: This disclosure relates to visualizing geographic positions in a three-dimensional virtual environment. A processor receives position data indicative of a geographic position of an object and generates a first image of the virtual environment which represents a view from an initial observation position in the virtual environment in an initial direction based on an initial target position in the virtual environment. The processor then determines an updated target position that is closer to the virtual position of the object than the initial target position and determining an updated observation position that is closer to a desired observation position than the initial observation position. The processor then generates a second image of the virtual environment which represents a view from the updated observation position in the virtual environment in an updated direction based on the updated target position in the virtual environment.

  • Patent number: 10305247
Abstract: An optical apparatus includes an array of lasers, which are arranged in a grid pattern having a predefined spatial pitch and are configured to emit respective beams of pulses of optical radiation. Projection optics having a selected focal length project the beams toward a target with an angular pitch between the beams defined by the spatial pitch and the focal length. A scanner scans the projected beams over a range of scan angles that is less than twice the angular pitch. Control circuitry drives the lasers and the scanner so that the pulses cover the target with a resolution finer than the angular pitch. A receiver receives and measures a time of flight of the pulses reflected from the target.

  • Publication number: 20190150480
Abstract: A method of making a gel-type livestock feed includes initially forming a feed mixture by mixing feed nutrient components, water, alginate, and a calcium component insoluble in water or a sequestrate to inhibit the calcium component from reacting with the alginate. Once the feed mixture is formed, the calcium component is solubilized or the sequestrates affecting the reactivity between the alginate and the calcium component is removed such that a gel feed is formed that includes a gel matrix containing the feed nutrient components. The gel feed may then be fed to the livestock. In another aspect of the present invention, piglets are weaned by feeding the gel feed for at least seven days directly after weaning. The gel feed may also include protein derived from blood with or without egg protein.

  • Publication number: 20190146456
Abstract: A high precision Interface Node is disclosed. The Interface Node includes an integrated structure including one or more complex or sophisticated features and functions. The Interface Node may connect with another component or a Linking Node. The Interface Node is manufactured to achieve high precision functionality while enabling volume production. Current additive manufacturing technologies allow for the printing of high precision features to be manufactured, but generally this is performed at a slower rate. Consequently, in one aspect, the size of the Interface Nodes is reduced in order to overcome at least part of the slower production volume caused by creating the high precision Interface Nodes. The components and Linking Nodes to which the Interface Node is connected may only have basic features and functions. Accordingly, this latter category of components may use a high print rate and thus high production volume.

  • Publication number: 20190146867
Abstract: A storage module is configured to store data segments, such as error-correcting code (ECC) codewords, within an array comprising two or more solid-state storage elements. The data segments may be arranged in a horizontal arrangement, a vertical arrangement, a hybrid channel arrangement, and/or vertical stripe arrangement within the array. The data arrangement may determine input/output performance characteristics. An optimal adaptive data storage configuration may be based on read and/or write patterns of storage clients, read time, stream time, and so on. Data of failed storage elements may be reconstructed by use of parity data and/or other ECC codewords stored within the array.
