  • Publication number: 20070246986
Abstract: An article of seating furniture is provided with a lift mechanism. The article can be a chair with a base and a seat that is pivotally connected to the base. A back is coupled to the seat and may be either fixed to the seat or rotatably coupled to the seat. An actuator is mounted to the base extending towards the rear of the chair. The actuator is pivotally coupled to the base on one end and is pivotally coupled to the seat on the other end. The actuator moves the seat between a generally horizontal position and a raised position. With the back rotatably mounted to the seat, a linkage bar can be added that extends from base front to a bracket that mounts the back to the seat. The linkage bar reclines the back as the seat is raised from horizontal position to the raised position.

  • Publication number: 20070250357
Abstract: A system is provided for automatically billing a designated account for fees associated with the costs of tickets and other similar services. Passenger Record Number data and similar data is provided through a Computerized Reservation System and an accounting system to a Fee Allocator program which automatically interprets the data, determines appropriate fees based on the data and a user profile, and bills the fees to an appropriate account based on the user profile. Billing data provided to the account also facilitates the process of reconciling the fees to the travel ticket costs. Enhanced descriptive billing statements can be created simplifying the process of reconciling fees to the travel ticket costs.

  • Patent number: 7284796
Abstract: The present invention is a supplemental motorcycle seat for the rear passenger that provides additional lateral seat support. The supplemental seat includes a pair of side cushions and a pair of support frames. The support frames define a support for the seat cushions and are designed to be mounted to the motorcycle by accessory supports customarily provided with stock motorcycles. The support frames are mounted such that a seat cushion is positioned adjacent to each side of the seat provided with the motorcycle and extend laterally outward from each side of the motorcycle seat. The frames are also mountable to the frame of a touring pack (frame for a rear trunk) that is capable of being mounted to the motorcycle accessory supports, allowing the support seats to be individually mountable or mountable in combination with the tour pack.

  • Patent number: 7287214
Abstract: A method and system for publishing a plurality of books for user access includes selecting a plurality of books, converting each book from a layout or publication digital data form, by providing and applying a tool to detect characteristic features (such as layout, typeface, and hierarchical or organizational features such as chapter headings, captions, drawings and tables), and extracting text or data information of the book tagged with the features. This produces a searchable publishing database indexed by book structure such that a user may remotely, access the database, search desired text data, and view an image of a portion of the book with the desired data. A search engine may score search results based on their position in the hierarchy or other factors, determining degree of relevance of text or data information located by the search engine.

  • Publication number: 20070243492
Abstract: A first high resolution pattern is defined in a first layer of photoresist on a work surface and portions of the first layer are removed to expose the pattern on the work surface. The exposed portions of the work surface and the remaining portions of the first layer are then covered by a second layer of photoresist. A second lower resolution pattern is then defined in the second layer and portions of the second layer are removed to expose on the work surface a third pattern that is a subset of the first pattern. Standard (non-custom) masks may be used to define the first pattern while custom but lower resolution masks are used to define the second pattern.

  • Patent number: 7284236
Abstract: A “high availability” system comprises multiple switches under the control of a control processor (“CP”). The firmware executing on the processor can be changed when desired. Consistent with the high availability nature of the system (i.e., minimal down time), a single CP system implements a firmware change by loading new firmware onto the system, saving state information pertaining to the old firmware, preventing the old firmware from communicating with the switches, bringing the new firmware to an active state and applying the saved state information to the new firmware.

  • Publication number: 20070239360
Abstract: Measurements are made with a multicomponent logging tool in an earth formation. The measurements are inverted without using a selected cross-component measurement. The model is then used to predict the value of the selected cross-component. A misalignment angle of the tool is estimated from the predicted and actual values of the selected cross-component.

  • Publication number: 20070237186
Abstract: High-speed serial data transceiver circuitry on a programmable logic device (“PLD”) includes some channels that are able to operate at data rates up to a first, relatively low maximum data rate, and other channels that are able to operate at data rates up to a second, relatively high maximum data rate. The relatively low-speed channels are served by relatively low-speed phase locked loop (“PLL”) circuitry, and have other circuit components that are typically needed for handling data that is transmitted at relatively low data rates. The relatively high-speed channels are served by relatively high-speed PLLs, and have other circuit components that are typically needed for handling data that is transmitted at relatively high data rates.

  • Publication number: 20070234702
Abstract: Thermodynamic cycles with diluent that produce mechanical power, electrical power, and/or fluid streams for heating and/or cooling are described. Systems contain a combustion system producing an energetic fluid by combusting fuel with oxidant. Thermal diluent is preferably used in the cycle to improve performance, including one or more of power, efficiency, economics, emissions, dynamic and off-peak load performance, temperature regulation, and/or cooling heated components. Cycles include a heat recovery system and preferably recover and recycle thermal diluent from expanded energetic fluid to improve cycle thermodynamic efficiency and reduce energy conversion costs. Cycles preferably include controls for temperatures, pressures, and flow rates within a combined heat and power (CHP) system, and controls for power, thermal output, efficiency, and/or emissions.

  • Patent number: 7279753
Abstract: The present invention includes a bipolar ESD device for protecting an integrated circuit from ESD damage. The bipolar ESD device includes a collector connected to a terminal of the integrated circuit, a floating base, and a grounded emitter. When an ESD pulse hits the terminal of the integrated circuit, the PN junction between the emitter and the base becomes forward biased. The forward biasing of the emitter-base PN junction in turn causes carriers to be injected into the collector-base junction, triggering the bipolar ESD device to turn on to discharge the ESD pulse. The trigger voltage of the bipolar ESD device is a fraction of a breakdown voltage of the collector-base PN junction and can be modified by adjusting a base length of the bipolar ESD device, a junction depth of the collector, or a dopant concentration in the base.

  • Patent number: 7278618
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dual stem active camming device including a plurality of compression springs independently coupled to a plurality of cam lobes. The compression springs are positioned between the trigger and the clip-in point of the cam to protect the springs from damage and allow the trigger to compress the springs upon retraction. A flexible stem tube is positioned over the portion of the dual stem between the trigger and the cable terminals. The flexible stem tube shields the trigger wires from debris and abrasion. A rigid yoke is also positioned over the dual stem between the stem tube and cable terminals. The rigid yoke prevents uneven lateral bending on the head of the camming device that may otherwise cause the device to pull out of a placement. The cable terminals are positioned between the outer cam lobes and on either side of the inner cam lobe.
