Thus, the disclosed systems and methods leverage social data, expert knowledge and/or user feedback, which are all available on-line, to determine breaking news stories, which are then delivered to users in a personalized manner specific to each user.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates dynamically providing privacy-policy information to a user to facilitate compliance with privacy laws. The system operates by receiving a request from the user to access digital content at a client. Upon receiving a request, the system sends a notification to a server, including information about the request. Next, the system receives a response from the server at the client, wherein the response includes privacy-policy instructions. Alternatively, the response could include the entire privacy policy. The system then allows the user to access the digital content at the client in accordance with the privacy-policy instructions.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for controlling access to an electronic document. A document management system receives a request from a first user at a first user location for an electronic document. The first user is authenticated using a set of access policies for the electronic document, to verify that the first user is authorized to obtain the electronic document. If so, an encrypted rendition is passed to the first user. A request for access to the encrypted rendition from a second user is then received. The second user is authenticated, using the set of access policies, to establish which operations the second user may perform on the encrypted rendition. A voucher including an electronic key for decrypting the encrypted rendition and the set of access policies is created at the document management system. The voucher is passed to the second user location.
