  • Patent number: 10304238
Abstract: This disclosure relates to visualizing geographic positions in a three-dimensional virtual environment. A processor receives position data indicative of a geographic position of an object and generates a first image of the virtual environment which represents a view from an initial observation position in the virtual environment in an initial direction based on an initial target position in the virtual environment. The processor then determines an updated target position that is closer to the virtual position of the object than the initial target position and determining an updated observation position that is closer to a desired observation position than the initial observation position. The processor then generates a second image of the virtual environment which represents a view from the updated observation position in the virtual environment in an updated direction based on the updated target position in the virtual environment.

  • Patent number: 7970844
Abstract: A method of “stateful failover” is provided that allows email gateway systems in a cluster to deliver email messages that have been accepted for delivery by a member of the cluster, but has failed with out delivering the messages. The method involves creating a backup copy of the messages that have been accepted for delivery by one email gateway system in the stateful failover cluster on one or more other email gateway systems in the stateful failover cluster. Upon detecting the failure of the email gateway system that accepted the message, another member of the stateful failover cluster that has access to the backup copy of the message queue takes responsibility for the delivery of the messages on the mirrored queue.

  • Patent number: 6973676
Abstract: Protective helmet device includes a helmet with a hard outer shell and a soft inner lining. In one embodiment, a tube inlet with multiple channels is coupled to the top of the outer shell, and is operative to allow the helmet to be connected to an air supply. In another embodiment, an insert on the inside of helmet contains multiple channels that are coupled to the tube inlet of the outer shell. Slots are contained in inner liner to allow air to flow from the air supply to the tube inlet, through the channels, and into the interior of the helmet. Air blows downward to keep carbon monoxide from coming up into the helmet, to keep air from blowing into the wearer's eyes, and to clear the shield.
