When the alkaline catalyst is added to an aqueous solution containing a hydrogen generation metal, the aqueous solution produces at least 4 L of hydrogen per 5 gram of hydrogen generation metal per 15 minutes at a production temperature of 140° F. and at a pressure of 1 atm.
