Patent number: 11933510Abstract: This application relates to a building energy analysis and management system for measurement and verification of building performance. The system can analyze, optimize, manage, maintain, trouble shoot, and/or modify building systems, such as HVAC systems, in connection with the building energy usage. Measurements may be gathered for one or more HVAC units coupled to pressure independent valves, and sent to one or more Surge Panels that pass data to remote analysis servers, which can receive other system or external data. The analysis servers compare measurements to predicted values and can standardize the predicted values to account for external conditions. The comparison can result in difference values used to generate probable causes and optimization recommendations. The system outputs reports or other data display using a graphical user interface that can be adjusted for an anticipated user.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2021Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: FlowEnergy, L.L.C.Inventors: Arthur Neal Smith, Joshua Jerome Doerr, Christopher Tillman Reed, Jeffrey Michael Creighton, Christopher John Robson, Andrew James Horn, David Anthony Rogers, Larry Ray Willis, Jr., Billy Joe Melin, Sr., Tamara Jewell Hansen

Patent number: 11378273Abstract: A burner apparatus for burning a gas and air mixture may include a burner wall. The burner wall may have a plurality of ridges and a plurality of grooves. Each groove may be defined between adjacent ridges. Each groove may also include a pair of slopes. Each slope may have an area of permeability having openings defined therein from which flames can project. Each ridge may define an area of reduced permeability relative to the areas of permeability of the slopes.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2017Date of Patent: July 5, 2022Assignee: A. O. Smith CorporationInventors: Jimmy Charles Smelcer, Billy Anthony Batey, Benjamin Bolton

Publication number: 20210341177Abstract: An atmospheric gas water heater includes a burner assembly. The burner assembly includes a burner having a body, and a screen member coupled to the body. A conduit is fluidly connected to the body. The conduit has an open end configured to receive gas and air. The flow of gas and air from the open end through the conduit to the body and past the screen member is defined as a downstream direction. The screen member defines a zone of combustion. The gas and the air is 100% premixed together upstream of the zone of combustion. The body of the burner has a first segment extending between a first end and a second end, and second and third segments extending from the first segment. The second segment and the third segment extend parallel to and spaced apart from each other to form a U-shape.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2020Publication date: November 4, 2021Inventors: Jimmy Charles Smelcer, Mark Allan Murphy, Trent Conor Snively, Billy Anthony Batey

Patent number: 9441470Abstract: A technique that is usable with a well includes deploying a plurality of location markers in a passageway of the well and deploying an untethered object in the passageway such that the object travels downhole via the passageway. The technique includes using the untethered object to sense proximity of at least some of the location markers as the object travels downhole, and based on the sensing, selectively expand its size to cause the object to become lodged in the passageway near a predetermined location.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2013Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Assignee: Schlumberger Technology CorporationInventors: Julio C. Guerrero, Gary L. Rytlewski, Bruno Lecerf, Michael J. Bertoja, Christian Ibeagha, Alex Moody-Stuart, Adam Mooney, Jay Russell, Christopher Hopkins, Adam Paxson, Billy Anthony, Dinesh Patel
