    Abstract: A heat sensitive electrical component is hermetically sealed within a glass sleeve by focusing a laser beam on the circumferential ends of the glass sleeve which abut the side wall edges of metal end caps on each opposed end of said component. The glass sleeve absorbs sufficient heat from the focused laser beam to avoid damage to the heat sensitive component.
