  • Patent number: 5794770
Abstract: A package especially suited for shipping and storing cut paper and for providing rapid and easy access to the paper when the carton is opened. The package comprises a carton having a lid that may be removed and one side which may be pivoted down when the lid is removed to facilitate access to the contents of the carton for ease of unloading of paper from the carton and ease of reloading. A preferred construction employs a moisture vapor barrier in the walls of the carton to maintain the moisture content of the paper in the carton within acceptable limits when the package is subjected to adverse environmental conditions. In this form of the invention the need for individual ream wraps is eliminated, and the package may be opened and re-closed without detriment to the moisture vapor barrier.
