  • Publication number: 20200281776
Abstract: The wound drain has an integral pliable base member with an adhesive backing that affixes the drain to the patient's skin and holds it in place so that the drain line can be fitted into the wound cavity. The base member is shaped and configured to affix to the skin adjacent the wound cavity and has a domed top, tapered sides or “wings” and a substantially flat bottom surface. The pliable base member stretches and contorts so that it lies flat against the patient's skin and conforms around and into body creases and folds. The bottom of the base member is coated with an adhesive, which is covered by a removable non-stick backing.

  • Publication number: 20200114049
Abstract: The wound dressing combines an integrated mechanical aspirator for drawing exudate and fluids from the wound site and an internal absorbent pad for collecting exudate and fluids within the wound dressing. The collection pad has multi-layers including a layer of hyper-absorbent material, which acts as the fluid collection medium. The aspirator is a type of simple bulb syringe, which is integrated into top of the wound dressing in fluid communication with the collection pad. The aspirator has a hollow bulb head and a one-way purge vent. The vent allows air to be purged from the bulb head when manually compressed. Once compressed, the structural and material resilience of the bulb head causes its walls to expand back to their original shape thereby creating a vacuum (negative) pressure within the bulb head that assists in drawing exudate and fluids from the wound site into the collection pad.

  • Publication number: 20190263456
Abstract: The cross wind stabilizer of this invention supports and reinforces retractable side fairings deployed from tractors to enclose or partially enclose the gaps between the tractor cab and trailer. The cross wind stabilizer uses one or more adjustable struts that deploy with the retractable side fairings from a stowed position to an operational position. In one exemplary embodiment, the stabilizer includes a main strut, secondary strut, and two sets of paired guide cables. The stabilizer is mounted directly to the aerodynamic fairing assembly and is suspended between the inflatable panels and the assemblies support framework. The stabilizer moves between an extended operational position and a collapsed stowed position in conjunction with the deployment of the inflatable panels. The struts work in conjunction with guide cables to support and reinforce the inflatable panels against cross winds.

  • Patent number: 10029745
Abstract: An inflatable panel for use as an inflatable airfoil in aerodynamic fairing assemblies that uses a blower that provides a continuous airflow to the inflated panel to maintain it in the deployed position. The inflatable panel is constructed from sheets of PVC vinyl that are cut, assembled and sewn together. The sewn seams act as an air vent that allow air to bleed from the panel, thereby eliminate the need for a separate air vent to bleed off the continuous airflow from the blower. The inflatable panel includes a blower port with an internal vent end designed to prevent the port from becoming obstructed by the body of the panel collapsing on itself as the panel deflates. The inflatable panel also includes a retraction unit oriented so that the internal cable not only retracts the deflating panel uniformly into the panel housing but also laterally urges the panel slightly in one direction to ensure that the deflating panel does not splay outward creating a road hazard.

  • Patent number: 10000245
Abstract: The panel housing for an aerodynamic fairing assembly using inflatable panels that deploy from the panel housing where the panel housing uses “shaft-less” spring hinges to pivotally connect a pair of gates that partially enclose the deflated panels within the panel housing. The spring hinges are constructed from a wire rod of spring steel bent to a pair of axially aligned spring coils, a central U-shaped neck that bolts to the gate and a pair of end arms that bolt to the end plate of the panel housing. The spring hinges functions as both a hinge mechanism and a torsion spring to normally bias the gate towards its closed orientation.

  • Patent number: 9873467
Abstract: The fairing assembly uses inflatable wall panels that automatically deploy and retract at certain speeds to provide sturdy, light-weight aerodynamic fairings, which cover and enclose the space between the tractor truck and connected trailers to improve the aerodynamics of the tractor-trailers. The fairing assembly uses a module design and includes two or more panel units, a blower/vacuum and an electronic controller. Each panel unit includes a panel housing and an inflatable wall panel, which inflates and deflates to deploy and retract from its housing. The controller actuates the blower/vacuum to provide a continuous flow of air to the inflatable wall panels during deployment and to draw an air flow from the inflatable wall panels when retracting the panels back into the panel housings.

  • Publication number: 20170097013
Abstract: The blower apparatus includes a fan unit and an electrical motor enclosed in a blower housing, which is configured to have a large rectangular fan box, a cylindrical motor guard and vent cap. The fan unit is disposed within the fan box and the electric motor is disposed within the motor guard which extends from the fan box and is covered by the vent cap. The sidewall of the vent cap overlies and is spaced from the sidewall of the motor guard forming an outer air passage around the motor guard. Similarly, the sidewall of the motor guard is spaced from the motor forming an inner air passage around the motor. The configuration of the blower housing allows ambient inlet air to enter the blower housing between the sidewalls of the vent cap and motor guard and then pass around the motor before entering the fan unit.

  • Publication number: 20140361889
Abstract: The electronic system for monitoring the occupancy of a vehicle seat to alert of an abandoned child includes a pressure sensing pad, that is placed atop a vehicle seat under an infant or child safety car seat and control module that interacts with a wireless device or FOB. When the pressure pad senses the weight of an infant or child on the vehicle seat, but the control module fails to detect the physical presence of the FOB within a predetermined range, the control module signals an alarm.

  • Patent number: 7264299
Abstract: The hood cover is constructed from a sheet of elastic, weather-resistant fabric, which allows the hood cover to stretch tightly around the peripheral edges of the vehicle hood and lie flat across the top surface of the vehicle hood. The hood cover is secured to the vehicle hood by a draw string and by two adjustable tension straps. The first tension strap pulls the hood cover tight around rear hood corners. The second tension strap pulls the hood cover tight around the convex leading edge and the concave rear edge of the vehicle hood. The fabric from which the hood cover is constructed prevents the distortion of decorative graphic artwork within certain areas of the hood cover. The blend, weave and sett of the fabric gives the hood cover “sequential elasticity” that allows fabric stretch to be isolated and localized around the periphery of the vehicle hood so that the central area of the hood cover remains primarily “un-stretched.
