  • Patent number: 6916210
Abstract: A compressor is provided with a fluid tight electrical connector. The electrical connector is sealed against the seal compressor housing, and a cable end connector is detachably attached to a connector housing . Since the cable is separately attached to the connector housing, it is not directly connected to terminal pins in the compressor. This reduces damage to those terminal pins. Further, unique sealing arrangements make the electrical connection fluid tight.

  • Patent number: 6162033
Abstract: The present invention comprises an economizer tube assembly for a sealed compressor. The economizer tube assembly of the present invention includes an economizer fitting and an economizer fitting extension. The economizer fitting extension extends through a center shell assembly of the compressor into a housing element that defines a portion of the compression chamber. The economizer fitting extension includes a refrigerant vapor seal with the housing element. The economizer fitting and economizer fitting extension both include interior chambers, which are in communication with each other. The economizer fitting mounts flush to the center shell assembly and is preferably secured to the center shell assembly by a welded joint.

  • Patent number: 6123520
Abstract: The present invention relates to a weld ring for aiding in securing parts of an outer shell of a compressor to each other and a method for utilizing the same. The weld ring is comprised of a upper ring and a lower ring. The upper ring inserts into a rim of an upper shell assembly of the compressor. The lower ring inserts into a center shell assembly of the compressor. The weld ring aligns the upper shell assembly relative to the center shell assembly. The upper shell assembly, center shell assembly, and weld ring are secured to each other. Preferably, the upper shell assembly, center shell assembly, and weld ring are secured to each other by a welded joint.

  • Patent number: 6082972
Abstract: The present invention relates to an oil level sight glass for a compressor. The oil level sight glass is at an angle relative to a longitudinal housing axis, such that it can be rotated to achieve an improved position for seeing the sight glass. The sight glass housing further includes an oil return valve which permits return of oil into the oil sump through the sight glass housing.
