  • Publication number: 20080144111
Abstract: A method to generate random and density controllable dot patterns includes steps of dividing a 2D domain into multiple cell units; determining dot density in each cell; creating at random initial location of dots in each cell; solving the force operation cut radius of the dot; setting up a residual force; solving the force control parameter in the cell; performing the force operation for the cell; making the dots in the cell to achieve balanced positions after repeated operation; and completing the generation of a dot-pattern within a 2D domain.

  • Publication number: 20080050769
Abstract: This invention disclosed a method to detect bioparticles in the biological samples (stools, urine, or other body fluids). Bioparticles (e.g. virus, bacteria, and cells) often serve as carrier/indicator of pathogens and/or toxins. The method employs a substrate with interlaced comb-like electrodes on which a certain amount of sample mixed with antibodies-coated gold nanoparticles is dropped. Then the alternative signals with specific frequency bands are applied on the comb-like electrodes so that under such a DEP force the Au-modified bioparticles can be separated from the other constituents of the sample and can be absorbed effectively onto the edges of the electrodes. After rinsed with water to remove the residual sample several times, the device will be measured for the impedance of the absorbed bioparticles on the edges of the electrodes. The measured impedance deviation in comparison with that of the reference empty comb-like electrodes will quantify the amount of the absorbed bioparticles.

  • Patent number: 7322733
Abstract: A light guide plate having micro-reflectors is to increase luminance of the light guide plate by changing light route. The light guide plate includes an incidence plane, an illuminating plane, and a bottom. Each of the micro-reflectors is disposed at the bottom and intersected with the light guide plate in a direction heading for a recess provided at the bottom of the light guide plate, and comprises a light reflection plane located between the incidence plane and the illuminating plane to define an angle ?. The light reflection plane is an arc quadrilateral or a sector when observed from top of the illuminating plane. The arc quadrilateral has two concentric arc sides parallel with each other.

  • Publication number: 20070097710
Abstract: A light guide plate having micro-reflectors is applied to a back light module of a liquid crystal display. A light source is disposed on one side of the light guide plate. Each of the micro-reflectors is shaped like a pyramid protruding from the bottom of the light guide plate and comprises a transparent plane and two reflection planes. The transparent plane is disposed at right angle to the bottom of the light guide plate, facing and comparatively nearer to the light source. Both the reflection planes are inclined to the bottom of the light guide plate, facing the illuminating surface of the light guide plate and comparatively farther from the light source to reflect rays of light upward to increase luminance of the light guide plate, and thereby changing arrangement of the micro-reflectors to improve consistent luminance of the light guide plate.

  • Publication number: 20070005840
Abstract: A cradle for connecting to a portable electronic apparatus is described. The cradle includes an AC adapter connector, a USB connector, a mini USB plug, and a USB signal detecting circuit. The USB connector is used to connect to a USB interface of a computer. The mini USB plug is used to connect to the portable electronic apparatus. The USB signal detecting circuit detects the USB_D+ and the USB_D? of the USB connector. When the computer is suspended from an operating state, the portable electronic apparatus is charged by the AC adapter through the mini USB plug. When the computer resumes normal operation, the USB connection between the portable electronic apparatus and the computer is automatically reestablished.
