The slider cam operatively mates with the gear unit and slidably engages with the bracket at a first cam portion and a second cam portion thereof. The first cam portion is engageable with the bracket in a plane different from the second cam portion.

The cooperative meshing of the first cone gear, the transmission gear subassembly and the rack gives the optical pickup head feeding device a low drive transfer ratio for precise positioning of the optical pickup head.
