Patent number: 11880660Abstract: Technologies relating to model interpretation are described herein. A text classifier is provided with input text and assigns a class to the input text from amongst several possible classes. Based upon the class assigned to the input text by the text classifier, a class profile of a centroidal classifier is selected, where the class profile is constructed based upon numerous input texts to which the text classifier has previously assigned the class. Based upon the selection of the class profile, information that is indicative of operation of the text classifier with respect to the text classifier assigning the class to the input text is output, where the information includes an exemplar text sequence.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2021Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Xinjian Xue, Adeel Jamil Siddiqui, Ryan Wang Gao, Jong-Chin Lin, Bin Pan, Naveen Duddi Haribabu, Balaji Ramasubramaniam

Patent number: 11754407Abstract: A transport arrangement system operates to provide a service, which can receive a transport pool request from a rider. The transport pool request can specify a set of parameters, including a pickup location and a drop-off location. A candidate set of transport providers are identified that satisfy one or more criterion, including a criterion of proximity relative to the pickup location. One of the candidate set of drivers is selected to provide a transport pool for the rider. The selection can be based at least in part on determining which individual drivers of the candidate set satisfy one or more constraints, including a first constraint that relate to a predicted trip completion time for the rider.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2021Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: Uber Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Bin Pan, Hasrat Godil, Brian Tolkin

Patent number: 11747978Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method, system, and computer program product for compacting data in a distributed storage system. In some embodiments, a method is disclosed. According to the method, first information about historical resource usage of a data node and second information about a historical data compaction performed at the data node are obtained. The historical data compaction compacted data files associated with a first database table into one data file. A configuration for a data compaction to be performed on a plurality of data files associated with a second database table is generated based on the first and second information. The data compaction is performed during a future time period. In other embodiments, a system and a computer program product are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2019Date of Patent: September 5, 2023Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Jun Wei Zhang, Lei Chen, Zhongen Zhang, Zhi Bin Pan

Patent number: 11718539Abstract: Extraction of platinum-group elements, e.g. Pd, by adsorption from acidic aqueous solutions, using chelating acrylic fibers having amidoxime substituents followed by recovery by elution with an HCl-thiourea solution. From about 10% to 100% of the acrylic fiber CN are converted to amidoxime by reaction with NH2OH (hydroxylamine) in H2O/MeOH solution in the range of 30° C.-90° C. for from 15 min to 72 hrs. The adsorptive loading of elements onto the fiber and the efficiency of elution therefrom is substantially 100%, in multiple cycles of adsorption/elution. The novel fiber/extraction process is rapid, lending it to a continuous recovery operation. A portion of the CN groups of may be converted to carboxylate groups by reaction with NaOH. Short lengths of fiber are loaded into a vertical column and the pregnant solution introduced. Upon breakthrough, the fibers may be eluted, washed and recycled hundreds of times without removal from the column.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2019Date of Patent: August 8, 2023Inventors: Chien M. Patent number: 11601511Abstract: A computing system can receive input data specifying a destination location for a requesting user and determine a guaranteed upfront cost for transporting the requesting user to the specified destination location. The system can cause the computing device of the requesting user to display a ride service selection interface comprising a graphic feature indicating the guaranteed upfront cost for the specified transport option. Based on a user selection of the graphic feature, the computing system can select a driver from the one or more available drivers based, at least in part, on a proximity of the selected driver to the current location of the requesting user, and determine a rendezvous point at which the requesting user can rendezvous with the selected driver.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2019Date of Patent: March 7, 2023Assignee: Uber Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Yuhki Yamashita, Didier Patrick Hilhorst, Bryant Jow, Peter Ng, Brian Tolkin, Bin Pan

Publication number: 20220289544Abstract: Provided is an optimization control method for stable operation of an aerial work platform. For an articulated boom type aerial work platform which does not overturn in three preset operational states, the maximum angle ?max of a folding boom angle ? is substituted into a known first stability control function L=g (?, ?, S) to obtain an optimized second stability control function L=f (?, S). The three preset operational states include: State I—a folding boom is fully extended at a maximum angle, and a main boom is fully retracted at a maximum angle; State II—the folding boom is fully retracted at a minimum angle, and the main boom is fully retracted at a maximum angle; and State III, the folding boom is fully retracted at a maximum angle, and the main boom is fully retracted horizontally.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2021Publication date: September 15, 2022Applicant: Hunan Sinoboom Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd.Inventors: Bin Pan, Guoliang Liu
