  • Publication number: 20070232174
Abstract: This invention is based upon the discovery that polybutylene naphthalate resin (PBN) having an intrinsic viscosity which is within the range of 0.3 to 0.7 dl/g can be easily processed into a nonwoven web of meltblown or spunbond fibers that exhibit excellent characteristics for utilization in making filtration media, such as strength, durability and filtration efficiency. Additionally, such a nonwoven web of meltblown or spunbond fibers offers outstanding resistance to organic liquids, such as gasoline, gasohol, kerosene, diesel fuel, jet fuel, motor oil and the like. Filtration media manufactured utilizing such polybutylene naphthalate also offers excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, acid resistance, and alkali resistance. The present invention more specifically discloses a filtration media that is comprised of a nonwoven web of fibers having an average diameter which is within the range of about 0.

  • Publication number: 20060208711
Abstract: A circuit and method for improving EMI noise performance in a bridgeless PFC boost converter. Such a converter comprises a boost inductor having a first end connected to a first AC input terminal and a second end connected to a first junction defined between the anode of a first diode and a first terminal of a first switch; a second terminal of the first switch connected to a common line; a parallel circuit of a capacitance and a load connected between the cathode of the first diode and the common line; a series circuit of a second diode and a second switch connected between the cathode of the first diode and the common line; and a second AC input terminal connected to a second junction defined between the anode of the second diode and the second switch. High-frequency EMI noise is bypassed by placing a first filter capacitor between the first AC terminal and the common line.

  • Patent number: 7074527
Abstract: A bilayer hardmask 26 is used to manufacture a mask 10, which is can be implemented to pattern a resist 165 on a semiconductor wafer 150. In one embodiment, the bilayer hardmask 26 has two layers: a first hardmask layer 28 and a second hardmask layer 30. The first hardmask layer 28 may be carbon and can be etched selective to the overlying second hardmask layer 30 and an underlying absorber structure 20. In one embodiment, the second hardmask layer 30 is a transparent layer of SiON, SiN, or SiO2. The bilayer hardmask 26 allows for a thinner resist to be used during fabrication of the mask 10.

  • Patent number: 7075207
Abstract: A stator (1) includes a core member (10) having a central portion (12) with an even number of pole members (14–17) extending radially and outwardly from the central portion, a winding having a same even number of winding portions (20a–d) wound around the pole members respectively, and a drive circuit (50) having the winding connected thereto. A half of the winding portions is arranged in parallel with the other half of the winding portions. During working, the electric current passes the whole winding in alternate direction to establish alternate magnetic fields to drive a rotor of the motor to run.

  • Patent number: 6960509
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of fabricating a silicon fin useful in preparing FinFET type semiconductor structures. The method is particularly useful for creating fins with a width and smoothness appropriate for sub-50 nm type gates. The method begins with a silicon fin prepared by lithographic means from an SOI type structure such that the fin is larger in dimension, particularly width, than is desired in the final fin. If desired the silicon fin can include a nitride cap. A conformal diffusion layer, such as of silicon dioxide, is then deposited onto the fin and silicon dioxide substrate. A PECVD deposition using TEOS gas is one method to deposit the diffusion layer. The coated fin is then heated and exposed to oxygen. The oxygen diffuses through the diffusion layer and converts a portion of the silicon material to silicon dioxide. This oxidation continues until a desired amount of silicon material is converted to SiO2 such that the remaining silicon has the desired dimensions.

  • Patent number: 6877345
Abstract: A padlock for luggage that can be operated by setting a combination or by inserting and turning a key is provided with an indicator that normally displays a first state when the lock being used in a normal way as a combination operated luggage padlock, but which displays a second state if the padlock has been opened by government inspectors utilizing a key for purposes of inspecting contents of the luggage. The indicator can be reset from a display of the second state to a display of the first state only after the padlock has been opened utilizing a combination known to the owner. The indicator is movable between first and second positions, and has first and second surfaces of different appearance, one or the other of which is displayed through a window of the housing depending on whether the indicator is in the first position or the second position.

  • Publication number: 20030126076
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing secure mobile commerce transactions. A mobile device submits a request for an electronic transaction at a vendor system; the request includes a telephone number associated with the mobile device. The vendor system sends a request for authorization to a transaction authorization system. The transaction authorization system sends a request for confirmation to a messaging center associated with the wireless telephony system. The messaging center transmits a message to the mobile device associated with the telephone number; the message includes a request for a user of the mobile device to send a reply to the message to confirm the request for an electronic transaction. Upon receipt of a reply, the messaging center transmits a transaction confirmation to the transaction authorization system, which then transmits a transaction authorization message to the vendor system. The vendor system then initiates the completion of the requested electronic transaction.

  • Publication number: 20020092839
Abstract: A heating apparatus has an upper heating element and a lower hotplate. As part of the process of making integrated circuits, the heating apparatus is preheated using both the upper heating element and the hotplate. A substrate, which may be a semiconductor substrate or a photolithography mask, is then inserted into the preheated heating apparatus. Typically, the purpose of the heating is to cure the photoresist that is on the substrate and has already been exposed to a desired pattern. By having both the top heating element and the hotplate active during the preheating and during the curing, the photoresist is cured uniformly, which improves the pattern in the photoresist that occurs after a solvent has been applied to perform the selective removal of the photoresist in accordance with the exposed pattern. Subsequent use of the substrate results in integrated circuits made from semiconductor substrates.

  • Patent number: 5728640
Abstract: A process for preparing a supported metallocene/aluminoxane solid catalyst comprises preparing a water-in-oil emulsion of water and an inert solvent by using an emulsifier, adding dropwise the emulsion to a solution of an organoaluminium compound in an inert solvent to carry out the reaction to obtain a suspension of the particulate aluminoxane, followed by adding a solution of a metallocene to the above suspension to support the metallocene on the aluminoxane. The solid catalyst thus obtained can be used in the polymerization and copolymerization of olefins. Polymerization can be carried out by slurry polymerization, bulk polymerization, gas phase polymerization, etc.
