    Abstract: A power conversion device includes a power semiconductor switch module, a driving signal-transmitting circuit, a plurality of failure-detecting circuits, a protection signal transmitting circuit and a control circuit. The driving signal transmitting circuit receives a control signal and generates a driving signal according to the control signal to drive the power semiconductor switch module. The failure detecting circuits generate a fault signal when they detect that one of the power semiconductor switches and/or the driving signal transmitting circuit is malfunctioning. The isolated pulse transforming unit of the protection signal transmitting circuit receives a corresponding fault pulse signal generated according to the fault signal, and outputs a protection pulse signal. The control circuit generates the control signal and receives a protection signal generated according to the protection pulse signal.

Each speed in a range of speeds is defined by a corresponding number of the cycles of the control duration. Power is provided to the motor from the power supply at a selected one of the speeds, by enabling input from the power supply for the number of the cycles of the control duration corresponding to the selected speed.

Each lamp may include a lamp luminary, a lamp stem, a lamp holder, and a pair of cables connected to the lamp holder. The lamp stem may have an insertion portion. The lamp holder may have an accommodation space formed therein. When the lamp stem is disposed in the accommodation space, the insertion portion may be clamped between a pair of first protrusions to separate the protrusions. When the lamp stem is removed from the accommodation space, the pair of first protrusions may resume contact through the elastic nature of the cable and the protrusions. The illumination system may be simple in structure and may be convenient for use.

    Abstract: The invention discloses a half-bridge inverter which includes first and second inverter input terminals for receiving a direct current (DC) voltage, first and second inverter switches, first and second drive circuits, and an inverter startup circuit. The first and second drive circuits are adapted to alternatively turn on and turn off the first and second inverter switches, which can convert the DC voltage to a high frequency alternating current (AC) voltage. The inverter startup circuit includes a capacitor, diode, and resistor. The capacitor and diode are connected in parallel and further electrically connected in a drive circuit in series. The resistor is electrically coupled to the first inverter input terminal and to the capacitor/diode parallel combination. The inverter startup circuit is used to trigger the first or second inverter switch. An electronic ballast containing the half-bridge inverter and a lighting device containing said electronic ballast are also disclosed.
