The application of the phenylbenzofuran compound in the preparation of a drug, a food or health product for preventing or treating a tumor, wherein the tumor is nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The phenylbenzofuran compound is prepared by traditional Chinese medicine extraction method and chemical synthesis method. It has been proved that phenylbenzofuran has certain inhibition effect on nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells CNE-1 and CNE-2 by tumor cell experiments in vitro.
