  • Publication number: 20120015574
Abstract: A method for production of a reactive polyurethane emulsion for use in impregnating and coating a textile fabric includes reacting polyols alone or in combination with at least one of diols and triols with a substoichiometric amount of diisocyanates so as to form medium-viscosity, OH-terminated prepolymers. The prepolymers are mixed with an external emulsifier. At least one of a diisocyanate, a triisocyanate and a polyisocyanate are added so as to bring about a crosslinking of the prepolymers.

  • Publication number: 20100035119
Abstract: The invention relates to fabrics, comprising fibers and a coating that is covalently bound on the surface of the fibers, characterized in that the fabrics are temperature-stable at 200° C. The invention further relates to methods for the production thereof, fuel cells and gas diffusion layers comprising the fabrics, and to the use thereof in fuel cells and gas diffusion layers.

  • Patent number: 7407728
Abstract: An alkaline cell or battery having at least one positive and one negative electrode which are separated by a separator and which are disposed, along with an alkaline electrolyte, in a housing, the separator being a non-woven fabric, a microporous foil, or a web made of one or a plurality of polymers, which are formed by copolymerization or grafting through reactive extrusion, and which have functional groups in the molecule or form them in the alkaline electrolyte, the functional groups being active as Lewis acids.

  • Publication number: 20060093820
Abstract: Functionalized nonwovens having a negative zeta potential in the pH range from 1 to 13 include fibers having a surface layer or surface regions applied by plasma treatment having anionic groups covalently bonded to the fiber surface and/or having precursors convertible into anionic groups and/or having polyether groups and/or polyol groups. The nonwovens may be used as filter materials or separation materials.

  • Publication number: 20040029471
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for graphitising a carbonised fabric. According to said method, the carbonised fabric is heated to temperatures of between 1,200° C. and 3,200° C. in lines or columns, by means of a laser beam, with admission of air.

  • Publication number: 20040025261
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the carbonization of an at least inherently stable two-dimensional textile structure, according to which preoxidized fibers or a mixture of preoxidized and non-oxidized fibers is combined to give a two-dimensional structure and is solidified. Said two-dimensional structure is heated up to temperatures ranging from 600° C. to 900° C. line by line or column by column by means of a laser beam and while supplying air, and the temperature increases as the process output increases.

  • Patent number: 6630269
Abstract: A fuel cell, comprising a housing, at least one first proton-conducting layer covered by catalyst layers on both sides, gas-permeable electrodes on the catalyst layers and second layers arranged on both sides of the first layers, whereby said second layers take the form of electro-conductive plates that are located in closely adjacent electro-conductive contact with the electrodes, define gas conducting channels in conjunction with the electrodes and one layer touches the other layer by means of a substantially planar surface. The electrodes are made of at least one layer of electro-conductive polymer fibers that is intersected by flow channels running parallel to the surface thereof in at least one direction.
