    Abstract: A carrier includes at least one take-up region based on a non-woven polyolefin containing dried-up capillary blood. The carrier is useful for semi-quantitatively, preferably quantitatively determining the concentration of an analyte in a blood sample. Further, a method is used for detecting an analyte in a blood sample and includes the steps of providing the carrier, applying a blood sample to the take-up region of the carrier, drying the carrier, contacting the carrier containing the dried-up capillary blood with a liquid which is suitable for taking up the analyte from the dried-up blood sample, and detecting the analyte in the liquid.
