  • Patent number: 11543429
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for preparing nanoscale electrodes comprised of electrochemically grown noble metal nanowires, and use of the same for the detection of extremely small concentrations of molecules. Such nanoscale electrodes provide target molecule release information from submicron areas on the cell surface, significantly increasing the spatial resolution of the target molecule mapping of a cell surface to enable localization of target molecules on the cell surface, which can be critical for the detection of certain cells with different properties in a given group of cells, such as circulating tumor cells.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 24, 2020
Date of Patent: January 3, 2023
    Assignee: Morgan State University
Inventors: Birol Ozturk, Alperen Guver, Peker Milas
  • Publication number: 20210305915
Abstract: A compact system for optimizing energy harvesting efficiency using of very thin (less than 10 ?m thickness) PVDF films. The system is comprised of a flexible substrate such as polypropylene (PP) or Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) that supports PVDF thin films sandwiched between two aluminum electrode sheets. The PVDF films may be fabricated at different selected thicknesses by increasing spin rates. The PVDF films may also be fabricated in various different stacking arrangements in order to further allow the electrode to more efficiently produce energy.
