  • Patent number: 10724554
Abstract: A hydraulic system includes one or more hydraulic subsystems that have a source of additional flow for supplying an auxiliary system. The hydraulic system may include one or more actuator systems, a boost system, and a further hydraulic system, such as a steering system. The source of additional flow for supplying the auxiliary system may include: sizing the boost system for providing both full boost function and auxiliary function, sizing the steering system for providing both full steering function and auxiliary function, utilizing available flow from an unused actuator function, and/or utilizing a selector manifold for actively selecting the source of auxiliary flow based on the flow and pressure demands of the respective hydraulic systems. Such a hydraulic system enables flow to be available to an auxiliary function regardless of the flow requirements for the actuator functions and/or other vehicle functions, while also minimizing interactions and flow disruptions to the various hydraulic subsystems.

  • Patent number: 10138915
Abstract: An electro-hydraulic actuation system includes a regeneration valve in fluid communication with a first fluid chamber and a second fluid chamber of a hydraulic actuator, and a dump valve is in fluid communication with the second fluid chamber and a fluid reservoir. A pump provides a flow of fluid to the first and second fluid chambers, a displacement of the pump controlling a velocity of the actuator during motion in the retraction and extension directions. An electric motor drives the pump, and a controller controls a state of the regeneration valve and the dump valve. At least one feedback device senses a system condition and provides a respective feedback signal indicative of the sensed system condition to the controller, the controller responsive to the feedback signal to determine an occurrence of an over-center load condition and control a state of the regeneration valve and the dump valve in response to the occurrence to maintain the velocity of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 8757196
Abstract: A pressure controlling valve includes a slidable spool arranged to be spring loaded towards a neutral position. A first port and a second port are connected to allow a fluid flow through the valve. A first and a second pilot port are connected to a cavity adjacent a respective first and second end surface of the spool. The pilot ports are connected to a fluid conduit on either side of a fluid device causing a pressure drop in the fluid conduit and the fluid device is connected to one of the first or second ports. The spool is displaced against the spring load in response to a pressure difference between the first and the second pilot port, whereby a control surface of the spool is arranged to restrict the fluid flow through the valve when the control surface approaches a central cavity.

  • Patent number: 6296162
Abstract: A cycle carrier that includes a gripping device (6) which engages with and fixedly retains a portion of a cycle. Further, the cycle carrier includes an operating device (7) with which the gripping device (6) is maneuvered between its closed and its open position. The gripping device (6) is openable against a spring pretensioning which, when it is released, transfers the gripping device (6) to an abutment position against the cycle. The abutment position is determined by the thickness of the fixedly held portion of the cycle. The operating device (7) includes means (15) for transferring the gripping device (6) to a clamping position. In the clamping position, the gripped portion of the cycle is fixedly clamped in the gripping device (6).
