    Abstract: In a method for producing a rotor, permanent magnets are arranged about a lateral surface in a recess of a rotor body from a selected position, e.g. a central position of the longitudinal extension of the rotor body, toward one side or toward two sides along an axis of rotation of the rotor body in side-by-side disposition. An end plate band covers a variable gap formed as a result of manufacturing tolerances of the permanent magnets between an outer face of an outermost one of the permanent magnets and an inner surface of the recess in an area of the recess which is non-parallel to the lateral surface. Subsequently, the permanent magnets and the end plate band are covered with a sleeve.
