Abstract: An injector includes a housing having a syringe assembly and an actuating mechanism at least partially disposed within the housing. The syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel that stores a medicament to be injected into a user, a needle assembly, and a filter member disposed adjacent to the needle assembly. The actuating mechanism is operatively coupled to the syringe assembly and includes a torque spring that exerts a torque to urge the medicament through the filter member to be injected into the user. The actuating mechanism further includes a damper mechanism that exerts an opposing force to dampen the motion exerted by the torque spring.

An injection device may include a housing having an opening, a drug storage container including a delivery member with an insertion end configured to extend at least partially through the opening, and a plunger. A drive mechanism may be included for expelling a drug from the drug storage container through the delivery member. The drive mechanism may be activated by a guard member moveably disposed in the opening in the housing, an activator member moveable independent of the guard member and which may be moveably disposed in the opening of the housing, and/or a portion of the housing that is moveable relative to another portion of the housing.

Abstract: A drug delivery device includes a housing, an injection assembly at least partially disposed in the housing, a shield, and a drive assembly at least partially disposed in the housing and coupled with the injection assembly and the shield. The shield has an extended position where at least a proximal end thereof extends a distance beyond a proximal end of the housing. The injection assembly includes a needle or cannula having an endpoint. Upon moving the shield axially towards the distal end of the housing a predetermined distance, a retraction profile commences whereby the drive assembly administers a medicament via the injection assembly. A peak resistance force is exerted within approximately the first 12 mm of axial movement of the shield.

Abstract: Drug delivery devices and related arrangements are disclosed. A drug delivery device may include a housing having an opening, a drug storage container including a delivery member with an insertion end configured to extend at least partially through the opening, and a plunger. A drive mechanism may be included for driving the plunger in a distal direction to expel a drug from the drug storage container through the delivery member upon activation. The drug delivery device may additionally include a guard moveably disposed adjacent to the opening and operably coupled to the drive mechanism for activation of the drive mechanism. A lock may be selectively engageable with the guard to limit movement of the guard in the proximal direction. An indicator may be coupled to the drive mechanism to generate an audible signal during drug delivery, and to cease generating the audible signal when drug delivery is complete.
