Abstract: A modular flooring system for construction of a piggery with a plurality of pigsties with underlying manure channels, wherein the flooring system includes one or more flooring system support units. Each flooring system support unit including a top part with a flooring support surface and an opposing underside and a bottom part with a support side and an opposing topside, and a middle part. The middle part including at least two interconnecting support legs extending between, and connecting the top part with the bottom part. The modular flooring system including one or more gratings for being mounted on and extend between top parts of the flooring system support units and one or more watertight manure channel membranes.

Abstract: A bite device for pigs for counteracting tail biting is made so that rods (1) for biting are disposed annularly along the periphery of a support (4), which may be conical. Thereby, separation of the rods (1) is achieved so that they are more easily accessed by the pigs. The support (4) may furthermore be used as a holder for a block of mineral supplement for the pig's feed.

Abstract: A sty (2) for sows having piglets is described. The sty (2) may be built having the same area requirements as for sties for bounded sows but may be used for untethered sows. This takes place in that a rectangular sty department (1) is divided by a diagonal wall (5) which is adjacent to a corner of a rectangular climate department (7) for piglets which are placed at each corner of the sty department (1). In order to establish natural lying positions (11) for the sow the sty (2) comprises mounted devices (10) in the floor which simultaneously protects the piglets against squeezing when the sow lies down.

Abstract: A heating element (12) is described for use in flooring, preferably for pigstys (3). The heating elements consist of a liquid filled chamber (16). The liquid in the chamber is brought into heat transmitting connection with a conduit (24) connected with a heat source. The connection between the conduit (24) and the chamber (16) do not have to be pressure tight, as no pressure occurs in the chamber (16). Therefore, a relatively simple connection may be established and there will only be a small risk of leakage.

Abstract: A flooring in a pigpen includes first and second grates which provide two levels to the flooring, the upper level intended for the sows and the lower level for the piglets. The second grates, which provide the upper flooring level, can be positioned on the first grates or on a steel subfloor support grid. The flooring can include third and fourth grates which enable the second grates forming the upper flooring level to extend obliquely to a side of the pigpen.

Abstract: A modular flooring system for stables is made up of a plurality of modules that each include a frame element (1) and an insertion element (30). Each frame element (1) is equipped with supporting profiles (6,7) intended for the support of the insertion element (30), which is placed in the frame element when in use. The insertion elements can be easily replaced in accordance with the type of animals expected to be walking thereon.
