Publication number: 20230246524Abstract: A device for determining a torque in a drivetrain of an at least partially electrically operated motor vehicle is provided, having a first electric motor with a first rotor rotatably mounted in at least two rolling bearings spaced in the axial direction. The first rotor is operatively connected to at least a first vehicle wheel to be driven by the first electric motor. The first rolling bearing has a first angular position sensor and the second rolling bearing has a second angular position sensor, the sensors each generating a signal that represents the angular position of the first rotor at the particular bearing point. The signals are transmitted to a vehicle controller, in which the torque of the first electric motor applied to the first rotor is determined from the difference between the angular positions and is provided to control the motor vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 28, 2021Publication date: August 3, 2023Applicant: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KGInventors: Jürgen EICH, Björn STEHLE

Patent number: 8639425Abstract: A method for making the synchronization process in automatic transmissions more robust and shortening the same, while at the same time taking the noise comfort into consideration.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2011Date of Patent: January 28, 2014Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KGInventors: Ulrich Neuberth, Frank Bast, Bjoern Stehle

Patent number: 8585546Abstract: A process for controlling a drive train with an internal combustion engine, a transmission and an automatically actuated brake system. In the event of a defect of the transmission, retardation is effected by means of the automatically actuated brake system in order to avoid impermissibly high speeds in the drive train.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2009Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KGInventors: Bjoern Stehle, Alexander Schweizer, Gerald Kuestler

Patent number: 8562485Abstract: A method for monitoring the operation of a drive train of a motor vehicle, the drive train including a drive machine, a clutch and an automated transmission, and the drive train having an emergency program, which enables an emergency operation of the drive train even if important control signals such as engine torque, engine speed, transmission speed are missing, where the emergency operation is initiated as soon as one of the following signals is no longer present: engine torque or a substitute value for the engine torque, torque requested by a driver or a substitute for the torque requested by the driver, engine speed, transmission input speed.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2012Date of Patent: October 22, 2013Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KGInventors: Mario Jung, Bjoern Stehle

Patent number: 8449433Abstract: A clutch device, which has at least one clutch, which can assume an open operating state and a closed operating state, in which a torque can be transmitted by the clutch, an actuator device for activating the clutch, and a sensor device, which has a motion sensor. In order to simplify the actuation strategy of the clutch device, the sensor device has an additional sensor, which detects whether the actuator device is in or near an actuator end position in which the clutch is in the open operating state thereof.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2012Date of Patent: May 28, 2013Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KGInventor: Bjoern Stehle

Patent number: 8449434Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling an automated friction clutch arranged in a drive train of a motor vehicle between an internal combustion engine and a transmission, and is operated in a travel-controlled manner by means of an actuator controlled by a control unit and transmits a maximum clutch torque while the friction clutch is closed, where an engine's torque provided by the internal combustion engine is reduced when the maximum clutch torque is exceeded and is increased when the maximum clutch torque rises. The engine torque is reduced which corresponds to a reduced transmittable clutch torque when the reduced transmittable clutch torque is detected and is increased to the engine torque corresponding to the maximum transmittable clutch torque after a first time interval expires, where the engine torque is limited by means of a second, longer time interval when a reduced transmittable clutch torque is detected.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2012Date of Patent: May 28, 2013Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KGInventors: Mario Jung, Cedric Kieffer, Bjoern Stehle

Patent number: 8370037Abstract: A method for the protection of an automatically actuated clutch of a vehicle from overload, comprising the steps of determining a driving situation of the vehicle, continuously determining the energy input in the clutch, and, preventing or reducing an overload state via targeted intervention in vehicle management as a function of the determined driving situation and the input energy.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2005Date of Patent: February 5, 2013Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KGInventors: Bjoern Stehle, Klaus Henneberger
