  • Publication number: 20110027107
Abstract: Power plant comprising: a lower level reservoir, a feed-through (line, hose, pipe, channel) for fluid communication from the lower level reservoir to a higher level reservoir, characterised by a pump arranged in connection with the feed-through in order to pump water from the lower level reservoir to the higher level reservoir in order to store energy by emptying the lower level reservoir, and a turbine/generator for power production arranged in or at the lower level reservoir in connection with said feed-through, or additional feed-through, for fluid communication between the lower level reservoir and the higher level reservoir for power production during flow of water from the higher level reservoir to the lower level reservoir. A method for power production. Use of the power plant.

  • Publication number: 20040070210
Abstract: The invention concerns an apparatus for the production of energy from currents in bodies of water with a surface towards the atmosphere. The apparatus comprises an axial turbine (1) with blades with adjustable pitch. The turbine (1) is secured to a housing and the housing (2) is secured to a foundation (14) that furthermore is founded to the seabed (10) below the flowing body of water. The apparatus is completely submerged below the surface of the body of water, and the turbine blades can be twisted at least 180° to allow the turbine (1) to rotate the same direction regardless of the direction of flow of the body of water. Furthermore the invention describes a method for the installation of such appa-ratuses and a foundation for the installation.
