  • Publication number: 20160052022
Abstract: A shaker screen filter for a well fluid shale shaker and method are provided. The shaker screen filter includes a mainframe arranged for being inserted in the well fluid shale shaker for screening drilling mud, the mainframe being subdivided into a plurality of smaller cell frames, and two or more cell plug filters with one or more layers of screen cloths, each cell plug filter comprising a cell plug filter frame arranged to be held in a corresponding cell frame in the main frame. A first cut-point or particle size distribution in said screen cloth of one or more first cell frame filters distinguishes from a second cut-point or particle size distribution in said screen cloth of one or more second cell frame filters.

  • Patent number: 9233398
Abstract: A feeder channel for use in a filter separator machine is used for separation of undesired particles from a well fluid used in petroleum industry which has a purpose of guiding fluid and particle flow to the area of the filter that provides the best utilization of available filtration area and includes: a feeder channel is arranged so that the upstream well fluid is guided via a guiding- and turning plate, which is installed in series in opposite repeated direction in which the outlet of each guiding- and the turning plate facing the center of the vertical line. The fluid will for this reason be independent on how the feeder channel is installed in the direction and angle, and will provide a homogeneous flow profile as it guided through the mouth guide plate and internal guide fin against the distribution plate. The fluid is then distributed to the filter's inner part and utilizes the entire filter surface area and the filter separator machines movement and function.

  • Publication number: 20110094800
Abstract: A method for controlling a drilling operation, in particular in production or exploration drilling for hydrocarbons, in which a drill bit is arranged on an end of a drill string and, by rotation and pressure against an underground formation, is arranged to form a borehole, and in which a drilling fluid is circulated through a pipe bore into the borehole at the drill bit to convey cuttings out of the borehole. The method comprises the steps of: providing data on the particle size distribution of the cuttings; comparing the provided particle size distribution with data for the desired particle size distribution when drilling in the underground formation of interest; and adjusting the critical control parameters of the drilling operation with the aim of achieving a cuttings particle size distribution which corresponds, to the greatest extent possible, to the desired particle size distribution.

  • Patent number: 3934510
Abstract: A proximity fuse comprising at least two frequency selective amplifiers having different band-pass characteristics and both receiving the same input signals. The first amplifier, having the narrower band-pass filter, will activate a detonator upon receipt of a signal which lies within the pass-band of said filter and which exceeds a given value. If a signal appears in the pass-band of the second amplifier which has the broader pass-band, and said signal exceeds a certain level, the output of said second amplifier will change said level which a signal in said first amplifier must exceed in order to activate the detonator. The output terminal of said first amplifier is connected to a first level detector, and the output terminal of said second amplifier is connected to a second level detector.
