  • Patent number: 6463276
Abstract: A method and apparatus for preventing the fraudulent access of a mobile terminal is disclosed. The mobile terminal includes a user profile defining particular behaviors which are allowed by the mobile station in response to the initiation of certain types of calls. Control logic associated with the user profile determines, in response to the initiation of a telephone call, if the behavior required by the requested telephone call would comprise an allowed behavior as defined by the user profile. The control logic then grants or denies continuation of the call based upon this comparison.

  • Patent number: 6459362
Abstract: A person paging method in which a first user (A) wishes to page and transmit a message to a second user (B) with the aid of a paging service. The first user (A) requests paging of the second user (B) at a paging central (1) which offers an alerting service and a message service which supplements the alert with the message. The paging central (1) alerts the second user (B) by means of the alerting service. The invention is characterized in that the paging service is not associated with any particular telecommunication network, but can be performed in at least one telecommunication network (e.g. in N1 and N5) chosen from among at least two possible telecommunication networks (N1-N5). The message service is also made independent of the alerting service, in that the message service is not activated until a request to do so is received from the second user.

  • Patent number: 6181936
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed in which a service provider in a first environment of a first plurality of competing, overlapping mobile networks has at least one service node. The service provider offers subscriptions based on SIM modules from at least one of a second plurality of mobile telephone operators in a second environment. The first plurality of operators has agreements for interconnect traffic with the second plurality of operators. Mobile users that are visitors in the first environment can communicate, through any appropriate network selected from the first plurality of mobile networks, which avoids the detouring of incoming calls to the visiting mobile users.

  • Patent number: 5991631
Abstract: A slave switch having a number of connections for traffic with switch-external users, and a number of extensions intended for connection with switch-internal users, is disclosed. The slave switch is characterized in that it is constructed to initiate originating calls only, and in that the switch includes by-pass signalling means. A method of communication between the slave switch and a master switch is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5915224
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multinetwork communication method for telecommunication in an environment which includes a number of different telecommunications networks, using a multinetwork terminal intended for communication in the various telecommunications networks. The invention is characterized in that the multinetwork terminal (25) itself detects those telecommunications networks to which it has access. On the basis of predetermined decision criterions, the multinetwork terminal itself decides in which of the accessible telecommunications networks communication shall take place. The invention also relates to a multinetwork terminal having a control unit (32) and network switching means controlled by the control unit for activation of communication devices (30, 31) in the selected telecommunications network.

  • Patent number: 5839067
Abstract: A corporate/organization communications system includes a number of mobile telephones and a local network which has a private automatic branch exchange (PABX) with a number of extensions. Access units are connected to the extensions. A service node, referred to as a mobility server, is connected to the PABX as an adjunct and manages all calls to and from the mobile telephones. The mobile telephones are adapted to make outgoing calls to the PABX only. The mobility server checks the services requested in a call from a mobile telephone. If the requested services match a service profile associated with the mobile telephone, the mobility server initiates the set up of the requested outgoing call. If they do not match the outgoing call is rejected. In this manner, a company or organization can control all outgoing calls from its mobile telephones. Calls directed to the mobile telephones are managed by a call park, call alert and call back sequence.

The message is not transmitted until the aforementioned request is received.

  • Patent number: 4075466
Abstract: A method and an arrangement is provided for detecting a faulty memory element among a plurality of memory elements. Two element categories are introduced. If a memory element belongs to the first category normal writing and reading processes are carried out. If a memory element belongs to the second category the writing processes as well as the reading processes are combined with an inversion a (binary complementing) of the actual transferred binary information. The category of an element is shifted at times, for example, before each writing process.
