  • Patent number: 4741690
Abstract: Process to ascertain combustion and/or decomposition of gaseous and/or by air or other gas carried particulate pollutants. The invention makes possible an effective and safe combustion and/or decomposition of pollutants not desired to escape into the environment. The pollutants are fed into a combustor (1) in which the pollutants are self combusted and/or are made to self decompose, whereby in the combustor outgoing gas is made to heat ingoing gas and/or by air or other gas carried particulate pollutants through counter current regenerative heat exchange. The invention also refers to an equipment for accomplishment of the process.

  • Patent number: 4538048
Abstract: A method and system of eliminating welding fumes by subjecting the air close to the welding point to a quiet electric discharge between an electrode supplied with a high voltage of direct current, and the work piece or another grounded object.

  • Patent number: 4402279
Abstract: The present invention relates to a treatment chamber, which by way of example is intended to be used as a spray booth.By means of the present invention a treatment chamber is obtained, which is easy to clean and which permits the insertion of treatment means (22), such as for example spray nozzles for paint (22), at optional places along the whole length of the treatment chamber. This object is obtained by a preferably endless band (1), which is spirally rerouted and displaceable in its longitudinal direction, forming the lateral walls of the treatment chamber.

  • Patent number: 4283250
Abstract: An apparatus for concentrating a liquid solution comprises a plurality of spaced-apart plates arranged for rotation about a substantially horizontal axis; means for supplying solution to the surfaces of said plates, said surfaces being arranged to be exposed to heat and/or flowing gas for vaporizing a readily vaporizable constituent from the solution passed to the surfaces of said plates; and means for collecting concentrated products. The plates are provided with an outer layer of open-pore porous material having the ability to absorb solution; and the radially inner regions of said outer layers extend into a storage space for solution to be concentrated, said storage space being shielded from the outer-layer parts exposed to said heat and/or said gas by means of shielding means.

  • Patent number: 4225656
Abstract: Electrochemical cells are provided having solid electrolytes of enhanced conductivity at low temperatures. These electrolytes comprise binary and ternary mixtures of salts having the compositions--M.sub.2 SO.sub.4 --(Me).sub.x SO.sub.4 or M.sub.2 SO.sub.4 --(Me).sub.x SO.sub.4 .dbd.MyX, respectively where M is--an ion of an alkali metal, Ag, or a mixture thereof, Me is an ion of a divalent metal or Ag, x is 1 or 2, x being 1 when Me is a divalent metal ion and 2 when Me is Ag, X is a halogen or sulfate ion, and y is 1 or 2, y being 1 when X is halogen and 2 when X is sulfate. In addition to having a high conductivity at lower operating temperatures, the phases are stable at least 100.degree. C. above the transformation points.
