  • Patent number: 7011501
Abstract: A system (1) designed to generate energy with the aid of, primarily, sea currents, comprising a rotation body (4) having a front inlet side (2) and a rear outlet side (3), and at least one transfer member (6) connected between the inlet side (2) and a generator (5). The rotation body has a conical and/or bulb shaped, tapering section (8, 9) extending from a substantially cylindrical waist section (7) in direction towards the inlet side, and a conical and/or concave or flat portion extending in the opposite direction from the outlet side, said waist section being along its circumference provided with close to each other mounted blades (10) for the purpose of maintaining a rotation of the rotation body, the free, front end of which is at the same time secured to the transfer member (6) in order to transfer a rotational movement to the generator (5).

  • Patent number: 6965074
Abstract: A pole-top insulator for carrying overhead electrical cables on pole legs or similar supporting structures located along power lines. One or more self-supporting tubular supporting arms made of electrically insulating composite material to which supporting cables are fixed are arranged on the top end of the supporting structures. The tubular supporting arms are joined to the supporting structure via an intermediate center part that can be attached to the supporting structure from which the tubular supporting arms extend outwards.

  • Publication number: 20040251385
Abstract: The invention concerns a pole-top insulator for carrying overhead electrical cables (7) on pole legs or similar supporting structures (4) located along power lines and that includes one or more self-supporting tubular supporting arms (1, 2, 2′) made of electrically insulating composite material to which supporting cables are fixed on the top end of the said supporting structures. In order to make a pole-top insulator that is both insulating and self-supporting and can be prefabricated and mounted as oine unit onto an existing pole leg, the tubular supporting arms (1, 2, 2′) are joined to the supporting structure (4) via an intermediate centre part (3) that can be attached to the supporting structure from which the said tubular supporting arms extend outwards.

  • Patent number: 6049049
Abstract: A surge arrester for high system voltages is provided. The arrester comprises an elongated column composed of a plurality of coaxially arranged valve units. The column is mechanically divided into an upper and a lower column part, and the two column parts are interconnected via a moment-limiting articulated member. The articulated member has an upper bearing plate with a concave sliding surface, which makes contact with a convex sliding surface of a lower bearing plate. The upper bearing plate is connected to the grounded stand of the arrester via tensionally prestressed, insulating links. The articulated member comprises a number of springs, adapted to the stiffness of the lower column part, to keep the two bearing plates correctly positioned relative to each other in the transversal direction.

  • Patent number: 5912611
Abstract: A surge arrester comprising a stack of a plurality of cylindrical varistor blocks (10), preferably made of metal oxide, which are arranged one after the other in the axial direction of the varistor blocks between an upper end electrode (11) and a lower end electrode (12) and surrounded by an elongated, electrically insulating external casing (19) of rubber or other polymeric material. The end electrodes (11, 12) are interconnected by means of at least three clamping members (15) of insulating material to achieve the required contact pressure between the different elements (10-14) in the stack. Between the lower end electrode (12) and the first block (10) in the stack of varistors, there is arranged a pivot means comprising a centrally placed pivot member (17), projecting from the lower end electrode (12), said pivot member (17) making contact with a pressure plate (14), resting against the lowermost block (10) in the stack of varistors, to achieve articulation in all transverse directions.

  • Patent number: 4825930
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hinge arrangement for hinging and coupling a first element (1) to a second element (2), of which elements at least one includes an internal cavity (1a) adjacent the hinge location (3) and a hinge member (4) which functions as a pivot pin or pivot arm and also holds the elements together. The elements (1) provided with cavities (1a) have formed therein one or more slots (5) which are oriented at right angles to the rotational axis (6) of the pivot arm or pin. The hinge member (4) is intended for insertion through respective slot for retention in the cavity (1a). The hinge member (4a) is retained in its respective slot through the agency of a bearing and guide surface provided on the member and intended for co-action with a corresponding bearing and guide surface provided in the cavity (1a) in the immediate vicinity of the slot (5).
