Abstract: Stabilized oral cannabidiol composition comprising cannabidiol (CBD) having a purity of at least 98%. The composition further contains ?-caryophyllene (BCP), at least one additional lipophilic solvent (e.g. medium chain triglycerides (MCT)), and at least one additional antioxidant (e.g. ?-tocopherol (vitamin E)). The composition is substantially free of THC. The CBD can be synthetic, biosynthetic or of botanical origin. Also disclosed are methods of making and the stabilized oral CBD composition.

Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition containing an effective amount of cannabidiol (CBD) for use in treating or preventing a heart condition, along with related methods and uses. The heart conditions include heart failure, acute myocarditis, toxicity caused by anti-cancer therapies, acute pericarditis, cardiac sarcoidosis, inflammatory cardiomyopathy, and atherosclerosis and related uses and methods. The disclosure shows CBD to be effective in (i) reducing cardiac hypertrophy; (ii) reducing cardiac fibrosis; (iii) reducing the level of BNP; (iv) reducing the level of cytokine IL1?; (v) reducing the level of cytokine IL6; (vi) reducing the level of CD69; (vii) increasing the level of cytokine IL10, and (viii) combinations thereof. The composition is preferably adapted for parenteral administration.

Abstract: A stable medicinal cannabidiol composition for use in oral delivery, the composition comprising synthetic cannabidiol (CBD) having a purity of at least 99.8%, preferably at least 99.9%, together with beta-caryophyllene (BCP) which functions as both a solvent and antioxidant in the present compositions. The compositions further contain at least one additional lipophilic solvent (e.g., medium chain triglycerides (MCT) and coconut oil) and at least one additional antioxidant (e.g., alpha tocopherol (vitamin E)). The composition is substantially free of other cannabinoids, terpenes, solvents, and pharmaceutically active ingredients. Also disclosed are methods of making and stabilizing CBD in an oral composition.

Abstract: Stable liposome composition for delivering a pharmaceutical agent, the composition comprising: (a) a suitable aqueous medium; (b) liposomes formed from a suitable phospholipid; (c) at least one pharmaceutical agent being at least partially encapsulated in the liposomes, and being selected from: (i) a lipophilic amine and a pharmaceutically acceptable acid, wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable acid is selected from an organic or inorganic acid, and (ii) a pharmaceutically acceptable organic acid salt of a lipophilic amine, and optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable organic acid; wherein the quantity of the pharmaceutically acceptable acid present in the composition is such that the pH of the liposome composition is less than or approximately equal to the pKa of the amino group of the pharmaceutically active lipophilic amine.
