  • Patent number: 8185185
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed, which combine image data of a patient, such as images of the patient's GI tract, with rating mucosal damage. According to some embodiments of the present invention the system and method are able to assess a patient's GI tract condition, to monitor mucosal healing in a patient's GI tract, preferably, the small bowel (SB) mucosa and/or to differentiate between different pathological conditions. The system and method of the invention can provide a value or score arrived at by assigning a grade relating to one or more predetermined parameters.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 2, 2007
Date of Patent: May 22, 2012
    Assignee: Given Imaging Ltd.
Inventors: Mark G. Gilreath, Blair Lewis, Mordechai Frisch, Deborah Mutter, Hagit Ephrath, Eddie Rudyk, Alan I. Klevens, Tal Davidson

  • Patent number: 6907779
Abstract: A continuous flow measurement recorder is provided for making water flow measurements in an open channel. An ultrasonic sensor obtains pressure head measurements upstream from a flume or weir located in the open channel. A central processing unit receives the head measurements from the sensor and calculates the water flow rate and the total flow. A liquid crystal display device displays the water flow rate and the total water flow calculated by a central processing unit. A common, portable, easy to install housing is used to house and protect the sensor, central processing unit, and display device.

  • Patent number: 6427718
Abstract: An automated turnout system is provided for controlling water flow through a turnout gate. The system determines the water flow parameters of the open channel and adjusts the size of the gate opening accordingly. The turnout system includes a flow measurement structure such as weir or flume, a water level sensor for measuring the water level at the flow measurement structure, a flow control gate, an actuator for adjusting the gate and a position sensor for determining the gate setting. A controller determines the proper gate setting based on inputs from the water level sensor and position sensor. The system provides a low cost, practical way to control outflow under varying canal water levels so as to improve irrigation operations.
