  • Patent number: 7564974
Abstract: Methods and systems enable content authors to achieve frame-accurate editing and, in at least some embodiments, reduce the amount of content that needs to be decompressed in order to operate on the frames. Some embodiments ensure that bit rate integrity is preserved so that bit rate conditions associated with streaming environments are preserved. Various embodiments intelligently determine which content portions should be decompressed, processed, and recompressed and which content portions should not be decompressed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 30, 2004
Date of Patent: July 21, 2009
    Assignee: Microsoft Corporation
Inventors: Alexandre V. Grigorovitch, Chih-lung Bruce Lin, Gareth Alan Howell, Mei L. Wilson, Niranjan S. Nayak, Olivier Colle, Randolph B Oakley, Blake Bender, Tony M. Antoun
  • Publication number: 20060204085
Abstract: A processor-based system may be controlled using a digital camera. The digital camera can provide luminance and motion information which may be analyzed to determine whether to alter one or more of the power consumption state, the operation of system utilities, or the operation of a screen saver.
    Type: Application
    Filed: May 18, 2006
    Publication date: September 14, 2006

  • Patent number: 5751270
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying an image in a system having an image generation subsystem and an image display subsystem. The image generation subsystem provides digital data corresponding to the image. The image generation subsystem writes the digital data directly to a memory of the image display subsystem. The image display subsystem displays the digital data.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 6, 1993
Date of Patent: May 12, 1998
    Assignee: Intel Corporation

  • Patent number: 5572232
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying an image in a system having an image generation subsystem and an image display subsystem. The image generation subsystem provides digital data corresponding to the image and interrogates the image display subsystem to determine image display subsystem capabilities for at least one of (1) color format support, (2) access to an image display subsystem memory, and (3) window management. The image generation subsystem and the image display subsystem then process the digital data in accordance with the results of the interrogation. The image display subsystem then displays the processed digital data.

  • Patent number: 5546103
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying an image in a system having an image generation subsystem and an image display subsystem. The image generation subsystem provides digital data corresponding to the image. The image generation subsystem then copies the digital data to a memory of the image display subsystem. The image display subsystem performs window management on the digital data and displays the digital data.
