Abstract: The invention provides a computer-implemented method for responding to an email message sent by a sender to an intended recipient. The method includes the steps of extracting the recipient email address from the initial email message and determining whether there exists a valid email account corresponding to the extracted recipient email address. When it is determined that no valid email account exists corresponding to the recipient email address, a response email message is generated and directed to the sender email address. The response email message not only indicates that the initial email message was undeliverable, but it includes supplemental information that may be of use to the sender. For example, the supplemental information may include advertisement information or search links that may or may not be contextually relevant to the content of the initial email.

Abstract: A system and a method for automatically routing Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls made to an unavailable number to a directory assistance service for further assistance. An intercept system intercepts these erroneous VoIP calls and automatically routes them to a directory assistance service. The directory assistance service can provide any additional information associated with the unavailable number, such as alternate numbers. The directory assistance service also can provide information regarding other subscribers having similar characteristics to the unavailable number that the caller is attempting to reach. Additionally, the directory assistance service can provide general or targeted advertisements to the caller before, during, and/or after providing directory assistance to the caller.

Abstract: A method and system for number indexing for advertising. Alphanumeric identifiers (e.g., telephone number, voice-over-Internet Protocol identifier, an Internet Protocol identifier, an instant message identifier or an e-mail address identifier) are used to categorize and associate pre-determined advertising with the alphanumeric identifiers. When the alphanumeric identifier is received on a communications network, the pre-determined advertising associated with the alphanumeric identifier is sent to a target device.

Abstract: A method and system for intelligent electronic information processing. The method and system include selecting one or more portions of a set of electronic information including any unwanted portions that have been reviewed and are to be eliminated from display. The selected portions are recording thereby eliminating any unwanted previously reviewed portions of the set of electronic information from display with any additional sets of electronic information. The method and system may be used to review search engine results, electronic auction results, syndicated news items and to purchase tickets for transportation and events and for reserving lodging.

One or more advertisements may be provided during one or more points along an unsuccessful or successful telephone call. One or more services may be provided gratuitously or in exchange for the presentation of one or more advertisements to recipient of the service. Additionally, a telephone service plan associated with the caller or callee may be analyzed and the caller/callee may be presented with the option to activate one or more service features that, at the time of the attempted call, are not activated in the telephone service plan. A survey may be provided to the caller/callee and the responses recorded. The caller/callee may also receive an offer for goods or services.

Abstract: A method and system for automated intelligent electronic advertising. The method and system parse electronic information messages (e.g., e-mail messages, instant messages, etc.) for keywords and make search engine queries or database queries for electronic links based on the identified keywords. The electronic links returned from search engine queries or database queries are added to the electronic information messages creating a modified electronic information message. This allows additional electronic information to be accessed from the modified electronic information message based on information content of the original electronic information message.

Abstract: Disclosed are exemplary techniques for securing rights to a domain name for an extended time period. A customer provides domain registration information and a one-time registration payment to a registrar. The registrar may invest at least a portion of the one-time registration payment and use at least a portion of the return on the investment to pay for subsequent registrations of the domain name with a domain name registry so that the domain name remains registered to the customer for the time period requested and paid for by the customer. Any portion of the investment returns in excess of the registry payment made to the domain name registry may be reinvested, disbursed as profit, or a combination thereof.
