Patent number: 10676094Abstract: Methods, devices and systems are provided for determining a connection state of an all wheel drive (AWD) assembly in a vehicle. The method includes receiving, by a vehicle, a message indicative of a hazard and a hazard location on the road and determining a distance to the hazard location from the vehicle. In response to the distance to the hazard location being below a first threshold distance, a state for an AWD assembly in the vehicle is set to a connect state. In response to the distance to the hazard location being above the first threshold, the time for the vehicle to reach the hazard location is determined. If the time to the hazard location is below a threshold AWD connection time, the state for the AWD assembly is set to the connect state.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2017Date of Patent: June 9, 2020Assignee: Linamar CorporationInventors: Todd R Ekonen, Mitchell Holland, William Blake Brown, Matt Griffith

Patent number: 10195558Abstract: A filter element is provided with a cartridge locating system. The filter element includes a closed end cap and an open end cap with a tubular ring of filter media disposed between the end caps. The filter element includes an annular seal that can seal to round and non-round sealing surfaces and acts to block fluid flow between the open end cap and a pipe assembly in a pressure vessel assembly. A support bar is enclosed by the filter media and has a key. The filter element has a key receptacle to receive the key of the support bar. The user knows that the seal between the filter element and the pipe assembly is fully aligned and engaged when the key from the support bar fully enters the key receptacle of the filter element.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2015Date of Patent: February 5, 2019Assignee: PECOFacet (US), Inc.Inventors: Andrew Dye, Jack David Burns, Eddie Blake Brown, Bulent Turan

Patent number: 7414831Abstract: A convertible display system includes two displays, beam splitter, and mount, which are adjustable to convert the system for 3D image use and 2D image display use, respectively. In 3D orientation the displays are at an angle to each other and the tops (or bottoms) are proximate each other, the beam splitter is at the bisectrix of the angle for viewing of respective stereo image pairs along a substantially common light path, and the images are provided by reflection from and transmission through the beam splitter. The reflected display provides its image in mirror image orientation relative to the transmitted image. The images are discriminated by polarizers. For 2D use the beam splitter is rotated out of the viewing path and one display is repositioned on the mount generally in side by side relation with the tops of the displays at the top to allow substantially side by side viewing of images provided by the displays.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2005Date of Patent: August 19, 2008Assignee: Fergason Patent Properties, LLCInventors: Blake Brown, Jason Monteiro, James L. Publication number: 20060265664Abstract: A monitoring system and a method and computer program product for implementing a monitoring system are disclosed. In accordance with an embodiment of the system, information about locations of reference nodes in an area may be received. Utilizing the information about the locations of the reference nodes, graphical representations of the reference nodes may be presented in a graphical representation of the area at locations corresponding to the locations of the reference nodes in the area. At least one node in the area may be monitored so that, based on the monitoring, a graphical representation of the node may be displayed in the graphical representation of the area at a location corresponding to the location of the node.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2005Publication date: November 23, 2006Inventors: John Simons, Blake Brown, Stephen Haigh

Patent number: 6816904Abstract: A video storage environment for a networked multimedia system comprising a plurality of workstations, each with audio and video reproduction and capture capabilities. The video storage environmental comprises one or more storage servers. In one embodiment, each video storage server comprises at least one storage cell. Each storage cell internally comprises at least one storage disk, at least one converter, and at least one storage disk, at least one converter, and at least one storage cell manager. The invention provides for various methods of resource allocation under various conditions and policies where there are pluralities of like entities. The invention also provides for transfers of video files among storage disks anywhere in the storage environment, and provides for the same video file to be used simultaneously by multiple users and types of applications.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2000Date of Patent: November 9, 2004Assignee: Collaboration Properties, Inc.Inventors: Lester Ludwig, William Blake Brown, Inn J. Patent number: 6709306Abstract: An aquatic propulsion device includes an elongate member, a forearm support secured to the elongate member, a grip secured to the elongate member, and a paddle secured to the grip. The grip is positioned such that a person may place their forearm in the forearm support and reach and hold onto the grip. While wearing the aquatic propulsion device, the person may perform power and/or return strokes using their forearm and hand, such that the forearm support, the elongate member, and the paddle move in tandem with the forearm and hand. The aquatic propulsion device is characterized by a center of water displacement that extends beyond the hand, away from the forearm.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2002Date of Patent: March 23, 2004Inventor: William Blake Brown
