    Abstract: A multi-analyte sensor system is disclosed that includes a sensor probe with a first set of electrodes that transduce choline into electrical signals and a second set of electrodes that transduce tissue oxygen into electrical signals. The sensor probe includes a third set of electrodes that provide working and counter electrode functionality for the first and second set of electrodes. The system also has an electronics module interfaced with the sensor probe that includes a transceiver to transmit sensor data. The system further includes control circuitry that determines a choline state based on the first set of electrodes and determines a tissue oxygen state based on the second set of electrodes. The control circuitry is also configured to initiate an alarm condition based on one or more signals from the first and second set of electrodes.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, an analyte sensor is disclosed. The analyte sensor includes a working conductor having an electrode reactive surface. The analyte sensor further includes a first reactive chemistry being responsive to a first analyte and a first transport matrix that includes a first transport material and a mitigation compound. The first transport material enables flux of the first analyte to the first reactive chemistry. The analyte sensor includes a second transport material disposed over and configured to enable transport of a reactant to the first reactive chemistry. Wherein the first reactive chemistry does not contact the electrode reactive surface while at least partially overlapping a portion of the electrode reactive surface.

The system also includes control circuitry communicatively coupled to the electronics module that determines a glucose state based on signals from the first set of electrodes and also determine a lactate state based on signals from the second set of electrodes. The control circuitry also generates an insulin infusion pump control signal based on signals from the first and second set of electrodes.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a working electrode to detect the presence of an analyte is disclosed. The working electrode includes an electrical insulator having a well. The working further includes an electrical conductor that is positioned at the bottom of the well and a reactive chemistry that includes a dehydrogenase based enzyme and cofactor at least partially filling the well. Where the reactive chemistry has a minimum molecular weight and a hydrogel is located over the reactive chemistry. The hydrogel is in contact with the insulation and the reactive chemistry and the hydrogel has a porosity less than the minimum molecular weight of the reactive chemistry.
