    Abstract: The invention relates to a ski, especially a downhill ski, and a trimming rod for such a ski. The ski comprises an elongate ski body and a gliding surface on the bottom face of the ski body. The ski is characterized by at least one approximately longitudinally extending recess and/or one or more receiving devices for detachably receiving a trimming rod. The flexural stiffness and/or the weight of the ski can be adjusted by inserting different trimming rods, thereby allowing to adapt the handling characteristics of the ski to the skier. The ski can also be provided with one or more damping elements.
