  • Patent number: 7128088
Abstract: A backflow assembly including a housing with a passage having at least one check valve positioned therein to permit fluid flow in one direction while preventing fluid flow in the reverse direction. The check valve includes a valve head connected to a stem having an outer surface. A hump extends radially outward from the outer surface of the stem. The stem is guided by a bushing during opening and closing of the valve. The bushing includes at least one retention member that moves along the outer surface of the stem during opening and closing of the valve. The interaction between the retention member and the hump on the outer surface of the stem causes a higher friction loss during opening and closing of the valve than other portions of the outer surface.

  • Patent number: 5331883
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a valve arrangement for controlling a linear or rotary hydraulic motor. The valve is connected to a pump which acts as a pressure medium source by the valve means and to a tank. The tank connection may be either direct or indirect. The arrangement of the present invention includes at least one seat valve located in a main flow connection between the pump and a port of the motor. Each of the seat valves would adjust the flow in the main flow connection to the motor via a pilot flow adjustable by a pilot valve. The pilot flow originates from the main flow through the seat valve.

  • Patent number: 5287794
Abstract: An arrangement intended for controlling hydraulic motors and comprising inlet elements (17, 18) and outlet elements (7, 5) in the form of valves arranged in a hydraulic circuit which connects the hydraulic motor (1) with a pump (15) which functions as a power source for at least the hydraulic motor (1) and preferably, but not necessarily, for one or more further hydraulic motors, and also to a tank (9). Each inlet element (17, 18) is mounted in the hydraulic circuit on the pressure side of the pump, whereas each outlet element (5, 7) is mounted in the hydraulic circuit on the suction side of the pump.

  • Patent number: 5176171
Abstract: A check valve includes an outer poppet therein having a central opening therein where the outer poppet is mounted on the internal lip within the body of a valve. The outer poppet is translatable relative to the inner lip and body and an inner poppet is mounted within the central opening of the outer poppet where the inner poppet is also translatable relative to the outer poppet and inner lip. A means for limiting the translation of the outer poppet relative to the internal lip and a means for limiting translation of the inner poppet relative to the internal lip allow the outer and inner poppet to extend between an open position and retracted position to allow improved flow area through the valve.

  • Patent number: 5129618
Abstract: An hydraulic valve of the flow-controlled type and including a valve housing provided with an inlet and an outlet and a valve body which is intended to coact with a valve seat in a manner to open and interrupt the connection between the inlet and outlet in dependence on a continuously controllable pilot flow in a pilot-flow channel extending from a pilot-flow chamber located on the side of the valve body remote from the valve seat to the outlet in the flow direction after the valve body. The pilot-flow chamber, in turn, communicates with the inlet via a variable constriction. For the purpose of simplifying this type of valve and rendering the valve more compact, the valve body is arranged in a recess which extends to the valve seat and which is formed concentrically with the valve seat. The recess is formed in a seat-part which incorporates one or more slots which are open towards the recess and which discharge into the pilot-flow chamber.

  • Patent number: 4905959
Abstract: Pressure medium valve having a valve piston located in a valve housing for control of a main pressure medium flow through the valve by the aid of a pilot flow through a variable pilot flow restriction disposed in the valve piston, the pilot flow being derived from the main pressure medium flow and being controllable by means of a control pilot valve. To achieve temperature independent control without area increase in the pilot flow chambers, an additional restriction between the valve piston and the cylindrical wall surrounding the valve piston of the valve housing is incorporated. The additional restriction has the form of a peripheral clearance of a substantially greater axial length than height.

  • Patent number: 4535809
Abstract: A valve means for controlling a linear or rotary hydraulic motor, which is connected to a pump (P) acting as pressure medium source via the valve means, and to a tank (T) either directly or via a valve means. Known valve means of this kind comprise valves with valve slides, which control both the supply of pressure medium to the motor and the return flow from the same. These valves, however, do not always satisfy the demand in question, owing to internal leakage which, for example, implies that a linear motor is caused to carry out undesired movements.
