  • Patent number: 4497392
Abstract: A rail vehicle disc brake caliper has a base frame (1) with a pivotally attached brake lever (3). Brake pads are provided on these parts in the vicinity of a disc to be braked. A brake cylinder (16) for acting on the brake lever is attached to the base frame. In order to obtain a space saving, simple and sturdy design with a required internal leverage and with a slack adjusting function a slack adjuster (15) of the rotary, lever type is arranged with its rotary part on a shaft (14) pivotally arranged in the base frame and its free arm connected to the piston rod (16') of the brake cylinder (16). This shaft is provided with a cam (17), preferably connected to the brake lever (3) by way of connecting links (18).

  • Patent number: 4473136
Abstract: A rail vehicle disc brake arrangement includes a yoke (1) with a brake cylinder (11) and a slack adjuster (16). In order to obtain advantages as regards design, function and space requirements the yoke (1) comprises two telescoping yoke parts: a fixed part (4) and a movable part (5). The slack adjuster (16) is arranged to act between these two parts. The brake cylinder (11) on the movable yoke part is connected to a yoke lever (6), which is pivotally attached to the movable part, has a pad holder (8) with a brake pad (9), and controls the slack adjuster (16).

  • Patent number: 4458966
Abstract: A conductor provides electrical connection passing through a rubber cushioned rail vehicle wheel having rubber elements in between a central metal wheel portion and an outer flanged metal wheel tire. Thus, a length of wire has a central conductor connection tag attached to the central wheel portion with U-shaped spring clips at each end straddling over and electrically connecting with an internal mating ridge on the tire extending between two spaced rubber elements separating the central portion and tire.

  • Patent number: 4454932
Abstract: Suspension for a rail vehicle disc brake unit (1) comprises a suspension console (11) to be attached to a vehicle bogie or underframe, a cradle (13) movably attached to the console, and suspension links (17, 18) pivotally connecting the brake pad holders (6) to the cradle. A further supporting connection (19-21) is provided between the console and the brake unit. In order to obtain the desired mobility for the brake disc during braking there is between the console (11) and the cradle (13) a joint (14), which is stiff in the brake force transmission direction but comparatively resilient in other directions. The supporting connection (19-21) has basically the same properties.

  • Patent number: 4287968
Abstract: A device at a brake actuator for permitting thrust force transmission between an axially movable push rod (4) of the actuator and a brake block holder (6) moving out of line with the push rod.In order to ensure force transmission irrespective of the brake block holder movements and to avoid any slippage between the members a transmission part (5) is arranged between the push rod (4) and the brake block holder (6) and has spherical surfaces in engagement therewith, these surfaces having a common center.
