The method includes sending, to the memory device, a request for an Enhanced Media Identification (EMID) for identifying the memory device, by an EMID decoder for authenticating the memory device; receiving the requested EMID changed by a preset calculation of the EMID with an optional value from the memory device; and restoring the EMID by decoding the received changed EMID.

Abstract: A method and a non-volatile memory apparatus for cloning prevention is provided. The non-volatile memory apparatus includes an Enhanced Media Identification (EMID) area, which is located in a specific area of the non-volatile memory, and stores an EMID for identifying the non-volatile memory; and an EMID encoder for modifying the EMID by a preset operation in conjunction with an arbitrary value.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for providing a DRM service in a user terminal apparatus providing an adaptive streaming service. Content protection information is received that includes information about multiple DRM systems applied to specific content provided using the adaptive streaming service. A specific DRM system is selected from among the multiple DRM systems. A license corresponding to the specific DRM system is acquired. The license includes an encryption key capable of decrypting the specific content. The specific content is decrypted using the acquired license.

Abstract: A method and system for generating a physical identifier in a storage device that includes a plurality of storage regions is provided. The method includes determining a number of reference storage regions for uniquely identifying the storage device; comparing the number of reference storage regions to a threshold; generating auxiliary storage regions for uniquely identifying the storage device, such that a number of the auxiliary storage regions corresponds to a result of the comparison; generating location distribution information of the reference storage regions and auxiliary storage regions; and storing the location distribution information in the storage device.

Abstract: A digital apparatus that provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for producing contents is provided. The digital apparatus may provide multiple screens, for example, a first GUI screen, a second GUI screen, and a third GUI screen. The first GUI screen may be used for setting at least one background item as contents. The second GUI screen may be used for setting at least one 3D avatar item as contents. The third GUI screen may be used for setting at least one scenario item as contents. The digital apparatus may produce the contents by combining the items set as contents on the first through the third GUI screens, respectively, based on a user set signal.

Abstract: A method is provided for controlling content playback by a terminal in a content delivery system. The method includes receiving streaming content from a service provider, the streaming content including zone information of each zone and an associated identifier of each zone for identifying a terminal's operation mode, determining the terminal's operation mode depending on the identifier, and controlling playback of the streaming content in a zone corresponding to the zone information according to the determined operation mode.

Abstract: A method and system for providing security between a service providing server and a user device, the system including: a user device to request a service and to transmit a packet including a first public key; an authentication server to receive the packet, to authenticate the user device based on the first public key, to generate a secret key if the user device is authenticated, and to transmit the secret key to the user device; and a service providing server to check an integrity of the user device by using information for an integrity attestation having the secret key, and to provide the service to the user device according to the integrity of the user device. When the remote integrity attestation of the user device is implemented by the service providing server, the anonymity of the user device is guaranteed and the integrity of the user device is authenticated.

Abstract: Animation devices and a method that may output text-based data as an animation, are provided. The device may be a terminal, such as a mobile phone, a computer, and the like. The animation device may extract one or more emotions corresponding to a result obtained by analyzing text-based data. The emotion may be based on user relationship information managed by a user of the device. The device may select an action corresponding to the emotion from a reference database, and combine the text-based data with the emotion and action to generate an animation script. The device may generate a graphic in which a character is moved based on the action information, the emotion information, and the text-based data.

The device stores and manages metering data and billing information. The system includes a device, a rights issuer, and at least one of a pseudonym credential issuer and a paying center.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for decoding a right object and a method and apparatus for sharing contents using the same, the method of sharing contents including: receiving a Digital Rights Management (DRM) agent to interpret a right object corresponding to the contents; operating the received DRM agent to generate a coding key and a decoding key to code and decode the right object, respectively; decoding the received right object by using the decoding key and extracting a contents decoding key in order to decode the content; and decoding the contents received from a predetermined device by using the contents decoding key. Accordingly, by allowing a right object to be signed by a third right object proxy signature apparatus, not by a right issuer, users can freely share their own content between a variety of apparatuses, and the right issuer can reduce the load associated with the conversion and signature of right objects.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for generating a rights object (RO) by reauthorization. The method includes a second device mutually authenticating a first device, which received the first authorization information from a right issuer (RI), receiving a first RO from the first device, receiving a second authorization information from the first device, generating a third authorization information based on the second authorization information, changing the first RO to a second RO using the second authorization information, and transmitting the third authorization information and the second RO to an unauthorized device.
