Abstract: An approach to managing information makes use of a multi-program graphical user environment (e.g., a virtual desktop). The graphical environment includes a first part in which information elements are presented to a user. A user selection of one or more information elements is accepted and corresponding representations of those elements are formed in another part of the graphical environment. The representations formed in the other part of the graphical environment are persistent as further information elements are presented to the user in the first part of the environment. In some examples, information elements may be classified by users such that application of and access to classifications is mediated a privilege system.

Abstract: Interactions with data stored in a data storage system are managed through a view of an interface provided on a display. Information specifying multiple data elements and multiple groupings of related data elements is received. At least one of the data elements is a member of multiple of the groupings. A view is rendered that includes tokens representing respective data elements. At least some tokens include a selectable indicator including portions that indicate membership of the data element represented by that token in each of multiple groupings of related data elements. A first selection of a portion of one of the selectable indicators is received, corresponding to a first selected grouping of related data elements. In response to the first selection, tokens representing one or more other members of the first selected grouping of related data elements are rendered in the view.

Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, a plurality of electrodes to be applied to the patient are employed and potential differences between the electrodes and a reference potential derived from the electrode potentials are formed. Weighting resistors are interposed which weight the potential differences, and the weighted values are combined in such a manner that the potential components proceeding from a specific point under the electrode system and especially from a point below the scalp are comprehended according to their magnitude while signal components proceeding from other points are suppressed.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for measuring the bioelectrical activity of a patient, wherein a signal electrode is placed on a patient and a plurality of auxiliary electrodes are placed adjacent the signal electrode. The auxiliary electrodes are connected by a resistor network to provide a mean potential value and the difference between the mean potential value and the potential of the signal electrode is determined and fed to a recorder which indicates this difference value as indicative of the bioelectric activity under and within proximity of the signal electrode. The auxiliary electrodes can be arranged at the corners of a polygon with the signal electrode disposed in the center of the polygon. The entire assembly of electrodes can be mounted on a support device of insulating material.
