  • Publication number: 20070298359
Abstract: A method of igniting and monitoring a high speed burner with which a fuel/oxygen-mixture exits at high velocity from a burner head, wherein the length of the flame is governed by the exit velocity of the mixture. The invention is characterized by placing an electrically conductive pipe in and concentrical with the burner channel for the fuel mixture, by causing a first end of the pipe to terminate close to the fuel mixture outlet of the burner head, by electrically isolating the pipe and by causing the detection of light of the group ultraviolet light, visible light and/or infrared light to be detected at the other end of the pipe, and by causing a spark to be generated between the first end of the pipe and the surrounding burner head by application of a voltage, in igniting the burner. A burner is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of producing an FeCrAl material by gas atomization, and a high temperature material produced by the method. In addition to containing iron (Fe), chromium (Cr), and aluminium (Al) the material also contains minor fractions of one or more of the materials molybdenum (Mo), hafnium (Hf), zirconium (Zr), yttrium (Y), nitrogen (N), carbon (C) and oxygen (O). The smelt to be atomized contains 0.05-0.50 percent by weight tantalum (Ta) and less than 0.10 percent by weight titanium (Ti). The invention is characterized by causing the smelt to be atomized to contain 0.05-0.50 percent by weight tantalum (Ta) and, at the same time, less than 0.10 percent by weight titanium (Ti). According to one highly preferred embodiment, nitrogen gas (N2) is used as an atomizing gas to which a given amount of oxygen gas (O2) is added, said amount of oxygen gas being such as to cause the atomized powder to contain 0.02-0.10 percent by weight oxygen (O) at the same time as the nitrogen content of the powder is 0.01-0.06 percent by weight. The invention also relates to a high temperature material.

  • Patent number: 6333007
Abstract: A photometer for determining the transmission of a liquid sample in a microcuvette (7, 20, 22) has a cavity for a capillary layer of the liquid sample with a free liquid surface extended transversely of the principal plane of the cavity. The cavity is initially prepared with a reagent to achieve a reaction, which affects the transmission of the liquid sample for indicating its contents of a predetermined substance. The photometer has a holder (6) for the microcuvette and measuring means (9, 10) for measuring the transmission of a bundle of rays directed towards the microcuvette. The cuvette holder (6) is mounted on bearings for vibration in a direction having a component, which extends in the plane of the free liquid surface and is parallel with the principal plane of the cavity, thereby achieving a mixing to accelerate the dissolution and the reaction.

  • Patent number: 6016776
Abstract: Cylinder (1) for a two-stroke combustion engine intended for a handheld working tool, preferrably a chain saw. The exhaust port's (3) mouth (17) inside the cylinder as well as the cylinder's transfer ports (5, 6, 7, 8) are arranged symmetrically around a common symmetry plane (9) which follows the cylinder's symmetry axis (10). At the exhaust port's (3) mouth (11) on the outside of the cylinder a fastening plane (12) with fastening holes (13) is embodied for a directly mounted muffler, and the fastening plane (12) is essentially perpendicular to the symmetry plane (9), and the exhaust port is angled sideways in relation to the symmetry plane (9) and its mouth (11) is shifted sideways in relation to the symmetry plane (9).

  • Patent number: 5986244
Abstract: The heat in an electrical heating wire is transferred by way of radiation, or conduction, or convection. Especially in the case of highly rated elements operating in air, where the temperature of the environment is relatively cold, heat transfer by radiation is predominant. In order to achieve as low element temperature as possible at a given surface loading, it is desirable to raise the emissivity coefficient. The surface coating on an element of which the base material is an alloy containing 10-30 weight % Cr, 2-10 weight % Al, maximum 5 weight % of other alloying elements and balance Fe, according to the present invention consists of metal, metal alloy, metal compound or metal oxide with an emissivity coefficient which is higher than that of aluminium oxide. Different metals could be considered for the surface coating, most suited are nickel, cobalt, chromium and iron.

  • Patent number: 4169173
Abstract: A method of color marking logs wherein the logs are cut to predetermined lengths in a processing machine and are colored coded with one or a combination of different colors after the cutting has taken place. The colors correspond to predetermined information related to the log such as its length and are applied to an end portion of the log during a free fall after cut-off by means of automatically controlled paint sprayers. A sprayer for color marking the log is preset prior to its actuation by a signal corresponding to the predetermined log length.
