    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a compound and use thereof in an identification of Camellia ptilophylla varieties, with a structural formula of Formula (I). Upon identification, the compound was named as 4-amino-5-hydroxypentanoic acid, being a newly discovered natural compound found in tender shoots of Camellia ptilophylla, and also identified as a novel amino acid. This compound was not detected in other tea varieties, but it was consistently present in all populations of Camellia ptilophylla. In the tender shoot tissues or tea products made from such tender shoot materials, the detection of this compound can effectively identify tea products and seedlings of Camellia ptilophylla.

    Abstract: This document describes a waveguide antenna array for use in an optical phased array (OPA) such that the OPA is able to achieve a wide field of view and grating-lobe-free far field projection. The waveguide antenna array comprises a first waveguide antenna having periodic perturbations comprising first waveguide sections and first perturbed sections, a second waveguide antenna having periodic perturbations comprising second waveguide sections and second perturbed sections. A pitch between the first and second waveguide antenna is equal or less than half an operating wavelength of an optical signal to be received by the waveguide antenna array. A width of the first waveguide section is different from a width of the second waveguide section. The perturbation period of the first waveguide antenna is different from the perturbation period of the second waveguide antenna.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a novel silicon-on-insulator wafer and a preparation method therefor. According to the present invention, the preparation method for a novel silicon-on-insulator wafer comprises the following steps: S1: preparing a TRL or porous silicon on and injecting hydrogen into a silicon wafer to form a hydrogen-injected silicon wafer; S2: growing SiO2 as BOX2 on a substrate, and flipping the hydrogen-injected silicon wafer over to undergo low-temperature bonding with BOX2; S3: after high-temperature stripping, growing SiO2 as BOX1 on the TRL or porous silicon; and S4: injecting hydrogen into the silicon wafer, then flipping the silicon wafer over to undergo low-temperature bonding with BOX1, and, after high-temperature stripping, forming SOI to obtain a novel silicon-on-insulator wafer. The novel silicon-on-insulator wafer of the present invention has lower back gate leakage.

The easy-to-cook whole grain obtained by the preparation method of the present disclosure has a complete grain, a slightly-expanded volume, and fine cracks on its surface. Compared with unprocessed whole grains, the easy-to-cook whole grain has a water absorption increased from 1.35 times to 1.9 times an original weight of the unprocessed whole grains during rice steaming.

The membrane is disposed within a bulk liquid that includes a hydrogel bead that carries a second microorganism for a second process. The second process can utilize a product of the first process. The first process can include an anaerobic process, such as biomethanization, or an aerobic process, such as nitrification. An aerobic first process causes a decreasing oxygen gradient in the bulk liquid that allows for an anaerobic process, such as denitrification, for the second process. The disclosure provides continuous-flow bioreactors that provide distinct niches for microorganisms that have different culture requirements.
