Publication number: 20040104179Abstract: The method is for treating a liquid or slurry with an ultrasonic energy. A movable endless member (102) is provided that is permeable to a liquid (156). A transverse foil (106) is disposed below the member and extends across the member (102) and a transducer (108) is in operative engagement with the foil (106). The member (102) is moved about rollers (104). The transducer (108) generates pressure pulses into the foil (106) to form implosion bubbles (158) in the liquid (156) disposed above the member (102). The implosion bubbles (158) has a first diameter d1. A gap (155) is formed between the member (102) and the foil (106). The gap (155) represents a distance d2 that is less than the diameter d1 of the bubbles (158) to prevent any bubbles of critical size (158) to be captured in the gap (155).Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2003Publication date: June 3, 2004Inventors: Bo Nilsson, Asa Kristin Schroder Annersten, Anja Kristin Hardin, Ylva Kristin Lubeck, Hakan Dahlberg

Patent number: 6308585Abstract: Ultrasonic energy from an ultrasonic transducer 3 is transmitted through a member 1, such as the wall of a vessel, on which the transducer is mounted. A cylindrical projection 2 is formed integral with the member, and the ultrasonic transducer main body is attached to the projection, e.g. by screwing the body onto outer threads of the cylindrical projection. The cylindrical projection is designed to form the lower part of the ultrasonic transducer.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2000Date of Patent: October 30, 2001Assignee: Ultra Sonus ABInventors: Bo Nilsson, HÃ¥kan Dahlberg

Patent number: 6296285Abstract: A locking handle for a refrigerator includes a mounting element rigidly secured to a refrigerator door, a hand grip rigidly secured to the mounting element, and a latch attached to the mounting element. The latch has a catch movable between a locked position and an unlocked position and an actuator operably connected to the catch for moving the catch from the locked position to the unlocked position. The latch provides a positive lock which is actuated to an unlocked position with a manipulation separate from pulling the hand grip but has an actuator located near the hand grip so that it can be manipulated by a hand grasping and pulling the hand grip. In a first embodiment, the catch is integrally molded with the mounting portion and is laterally deflectable away from a retainer mounted beside the door. In a second embodiment the catch is a vertically extending spindle which is downwardly movable away from a retainer mounted above the door.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 1999Date of Patent: October 2, 2001Assignee: White Consolidated Industries, Inc.Inventors: Gunnar Alvring, Kenneth Anderson, Per-Olof Lindqvist, Andrew Moseley, Bo Nilsson

Patent number: 5935838Abstract: A method of cultivating bacteria having genes in plasmids which code for surface or membrane bound antigens or other proteins and which are expressed in a temperature regulated manner for the production of desired bacterial products, is disclosed. The bacteria are first cultivated in a culture medium to an inoculum under such temperature conditions that the bacteria retain their plasmids and no expression occurs, e.g. 20.degree. C., and then in a culture medium under such temperature conditions that expression occurs and before the bacteria lose their plasmids they are harvested, and the desired product is isolated.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 1997Date of Patent: August 10, 1999Assignee: SBL Vaccin ABInventors: Per Askelof, Nils Carlin, Bo Nilsson, Agneta Paulsson

Patent number: 5579009Abstract: A sensor system comprises a plurality of sensor stations of the same type for surveillance of an area intended to include an object to be protected, the sensor stations being distributed essentially along the periphery of a circle, in the central part of which an object to be protected is intended to be contained. Each sensor station includes a detector unit which is arranged to scan an arc in an azimuth sector of the circle allocated to it up towards the background of the sky in each of two detection fields formed along the arc having different elevation angles with respect to the detector unit. The time of the passage of a target between the two detection fields is measured, and the target position is calculated relative to the sensor station on the basis of the measured time, the speed of the target, the angle between the detection fields and the angle to the target.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1994Date of Patent: November 26, 1996Assignee: Bofors ABInventors: Bo Nilsson-Almqvist, Bjorn Nilsson
