    Abstract: A stereoscopic image generation method and apparatus is provided. A single image is segmented into segments, and feature points are extracted from the segments. An object is recognized by using the extracted feature points, and a depth value is assigned to the recognized object. Matching points are acquired according to the depth value. A left image or a right image is reconstructed with respect to the image by using the feature points and the matching points.
