  • Publication number: 20190081671
Abstract: Various solutions with respect to codebook-based uplink transmission in wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) receives a first signal from a network node of a wireless network, with the first signal selecting one or more codewords or a codebook from a plurality of different codebooks within a master codebook as allowed precoders at transmission ranks. The UE also receives a second signal from the network node, with the second signal selecting a precoder among the allowed precoders for uplink (UL) transmission. The UE then processes data using the selected precoder and performs an UL transmission of the processed data to the network node.

  • Publication number: 20190081835
Abstract: Various solutions with respect to relative phase discontinuity (RPD) calibration in wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) receives a single trigger signal from a network node of a wireless network. The UE then transmits a plurality of reference signals in sequence to the network node responsive to receiving the single trigger signal. The network node can perform RPD calibration based on relative phase difference between adjacent reference signals in time domain of the plurality of reference signals received from the UE.

  • Publication number: 20180302192
Abstract: Techniques and examples of layer mapping, channel state information (CSI) feedback and hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback in mobile communications are described. A user equipment (UE) receives from a base station one or more reference signals, which may be non-zero power (NZP) or zero power (ZP), on one or more time-frequency resources indicated by a network via a communication link between the UE and the base station. The UE estimates, based on the receiving, a subspace spanned by a channel response of an interfering signal. The UE determines a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) based on the estimated subspace. The UE transmits to the base station a channel state information (CSI) feedback comprising at least the PMI. The PMI may include at least a first precoder and a second precoder.

  • Patent number: 10104691
Abstract: A method of determining and adapting a contention window size (CWS) based on channel loading for load-based equipment (LBE) listen before talk (LBT) channel access mechanism is proposed. The historic observations obtained from carrier sensing can reflect the state of channel loading, which is then used to adapt the maximal contention window size. A wireless device collects historical channel loading information including the number of idle slots and the number of busy slots. The wireless device uses the historical information to estimate the total number of active devices M in the wireless network and the channel-loading factor. The wireless device then computes the thresholds using the long-term value of M and then adapts the value of the CWS based on the channel-loading factor and the thresholds.

  • Publication number: 20180270835
Abstract: A first base station on a first cell determines to communicate in a first direction with one or more UEs on the first cell in a first time slot and a second time slot, the first time slot and the second time slot being consecutive, the one or more UEs including a first UE. The first base station further determines that communication with the first UE on the first cell in the first direction interferes with communication between a second base station and a second UE on a second cell in a second direction. Communication in the second direction having a priority higher that a priority of communication in the first direction. • Patent number: 10051662
Abstract: A method of determining and configuring a maximal clear channel assessment (CCA) duration based on channel loading information for frame-based equipment (FBE) listen before talk (LBT) channel access mechanism is proposed. The CCA period is a random CCA duration generated out of the maximal CCA duration, which is configurable and is carried in the radio resource control (RRC) signaling or the beacon signal of LAA. To solve the collision problem in synchronous network and the unfairness problem in asynchronous network, the maximal duration of CCA should be adaptive based on the experienced channel occupancy status and/or the experienced synchronization difference within the network. First, the maximal duration of CCA should be adjusted according to the channel loading. Second, the maximal duration of CCA should be larger than the timing difference between eNBs or between UEs.

  • Patent number: 10045376
Abstract: A method of channel access procedure and QoS provisioning is proposed. When more than one user equipments (UEs) contend uplink transmission for a given time slot in an unlicensed band, uplink listen-before-talk (LBT) scheme should perform in a proper way to reflect service prioritization. The base station first determines the Channel Access Priority (CAP) for uplink LBT, and then signals such CAP to the UE via PDCCH. Upon receiving the CAP, the UE performs LBT procedure with corresponding CAP before uplink transmission. For example, the CAP can be determined based on QoS class identifier (QCI) of the radio bearer or based on the MAC layer logical channel prioritization (LCP).

  • Patent number: 9979581
Abstract: A flexible and efficient physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) signaling scheme that schedules physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission over multiple subframes with Hybrid Automatic Retransmission (HARQ) support is proposed. The PDCCH has a downlink control information (DCI) format that schedules PUSCH transmission over multiple subframes. The PUSCH transmission is associated with multiple HARQ processes with non-consecutive HARQ process IDs. Furthermore, the DCI format uses joint signaling to combine HARQ process indexes, new data indication (NDI), and redundancy version (RV) to reduce signaling overhead.

  • Patent number: 9979522
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for multiplexing DRS within a transmission burst for opportunistic spectrum access. In one novel aspect, DRS is not transmitted in a fractional subframe within a TXOP. In one embodiment, if the starting fractional subframe, which contains initial signal, occurs in a configured DMTC, DRS is transmitted in the first subframe next to the starting fractional subframe. In another embodiment, if DMTC starts from a complete subframe within a TXOP, DRS is transmitted in the first candidate position within a DMTC. In another novel aspect, in the DRS subframe, PDSCH is allocated in the PRBs outside the central PRBs (six or twenty-five PRBs). In one embodiment, the reservation signal can be used to satisfy the requirement of occupied bandwidth and continuity transmission. In another embodiment, the free REs in central PRBs carry the system information when required on the unlicensed band.

  • Publication number: 20170331606
Abstract: A method of supporting uplink aperiodic sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission in licensed assisted access (LAA) wireless communication networks is provided. In one novel aspect, a base station can configure each UE with a group ID by RRC signaling, and then use DCI to signal the group to transmit SRS in the corresponding SC-FDMA symbol. A new cell specific RNTI is introduced for the group DCI. In a first embodiment, the DCI comprises a list of group IDs, each indicating a group ID for SRS transmission in the corresponding SC-FDMA symbol in the UpPTS. In a second embodiment, the DCI comprises a number of SC-FDMA symbols in the UpPTS and an offset value of the group ID for SRS transmission. The proposed method can trigger different groups of UEs in multiple SC-FDMA symbols in a flexible way.
