Abstract: Embodiments are described for editing a remote document residing on a server that is accessed by a mobile device over a remote desktop connection, by downloading portions of text to be locally edited from the remote document to the mobile device, performing edits on the downloaded text locally on the mobile device in an interface optimized for mobile device text editing, and conveying the edited portions back to the server to be inserted into a corresponding place in the document.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for universal naming convention (UNC) path redirection between a local desktop and a remote desktop. The method generally includes selecting, by a client device in an internal network, via an application running on a remote desktop in an external network, to open a UNC path for a resource located in the internal network. A firewall restricts the external network to access the resource located in the internal network. The method generally includes receiving, at the client device, from the remote desktop, via a virtual channel between the external network and the client device in the internal network, a message indicating to open the UNC path. The method generally includes opening, by the client device, via a local application of the client device, the UNC path to access the resource located in the internal network.

Example implementations include opening a first file with a first application to generate a first application window on a first desktop window on a user display; based at least on a trigger event for transitioning the first application window from the first desktop window to a second desktop window, determining whether a second application is available for the second desktop window to produce a version of the first application window; and based at least on the second application being available: transferring the first file across a network to become a second file; and opening the second file with the second application to generate a second application window on the second desktop window, the second application window replacing the first application window on the user display. The transition may go either direction.

Abstract: An approach for accessing one or more resources at a virtualized desktop infrastructure (VDI) client running on a client device by a remote virtual machine (VM) is provided. The method includes intercepting, via a VDI agent, a request to access one or more resources at the client device, transferring the request from the remote VM to the client device via a network redirector protocol, and filtering the request to determine if the request complies with one or more rules. For a first resource of the one or more resources, if the request does not comply with any one of one or more first rules of the one or more rules, access to the first resource is denied. If the request complies with the one or more first rules, access to the first resource is granted and a response is sent to the VDI agent via the network redirector protocol.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an approach for transferring an object between a virtualized desktop infrastructure (VDI) client running on a client device and a remote virtual machine (VM) connected to the VDI client through a network. The method includes receiving, at the client device, an input corresponding to a drag and drop operation of an object between the client device and a remote desktop displayed at the client device, the remote desktop running on the remote VM. The method includes transferring one or more commands corresponding to the drag and drop operation from the client device to the remote VM or from the remote VM to the client device via a first channel. The method also includes transferring the object from the client device to the remote VM or from the remote VM to the client device via a second channel.
