  • Patent number: 8317428
Abstract: A marine structure comprising a supporting member that comprises a wall at least partially delimiting said supporting member such that an inner side of said wall is arranged to at least partially delimit an inner volume of said supporting member and an outer side of said wall is arranged to face the ambient environment of said supporting member. The marine structure further comprises a drain pipe adapted to guide fluid from said marine structure to a body of water at least partially surrounding said marine structure. At least a portion of said outer side of said wall partially delimits said drain pipe.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 20, 2009
Date of Patent: November 27, 2012
    Assignee: GVA Consultants AB
    Inventors: Lars-Olof Liberg, Bo Sundquist

  • Patent number: 6352697
Abstract: Saponin preparations based on defined compositions of purified saponin fractions derived from the bark of Quillaja saponaria Molina are disclosed. The saponin preparations are useful in immunostimulating complex (iscom) matrices. The saponin preparations, and iscom matrices prepared using them, have particular activity as adjuvants.

  • Patent number: 5679354
Abstract: The invention claims an iscom matrix which is not a lipid vesicle comprising at least one lipid and at least one saponim but no intentional antigenic determinants and optionally also adjuvants for use as an immunomodulating agent, medicines, vaccines, kits containing the matrix and new saponins, and a process for preparing the new saponins. The invention also concerns a process for preparing the matrix characterized in that at least one sterol is solubilized in a solvent or detergent, the saponin or saponins are added, the other adjuvants and lipids are optionally also added, whereafter the organic solvent or the detergent may be removed for example with dialysis, ultra filtration, gel filtration or electrophoresis. The sterol and saponin might also be solubilized in the lipids and/or adjuvants.
