  • Publication number: 20260159097
Abstract: In an aspect, a system is described. The system comprises: a sensor module; and a processor storing instructions in non-transitory memory that, when executed, causes the processor to: communicate a first command to the sensor module to capture one of an image and a video of one or more facial expressions of one or more occupants in a vehicle; extract one or more facial landmark characteristics from the one or more facial expressions; compare the one or more facial landmark characteristics with one or more facial baseline landmark characteristics to determine deviations; classify the one or more facial landmark characteristics based on the deviations exceeding threshold values; determine a physiological state of the one or more occupants based on the classification; and communicate a second command to an electric drive unit based on the physiological state to control the vehicle to ensure safety of the one or more occupants.

  • Publication number: 20260116401
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for detecting an incapacitation of an occupant of a vehicle. The method includes obtaining first data indicative of a pressure distribution on a seat of the vehicle, where the seat is occupied by the occupant. The method further includes obtaining second data indicative of a position and/or orientation of at least one body part of the occupant. Moreover, the method includes providing third data indicative of an incapacitation of the occupant based on the first data and based on the second data. Moreover, the disclosure relates to a method for controlling the vehicle. Furthermore, the disclosure relates to a system for detecting an incapacitation of an occupant of a vehicle and to a vehicle including the system.

  • Publication number: 20250206304
Abstract: The disclosure relates to initiating a safety procedure for decelerating a vehicle. A corresponding method can comprise obtaining, by a device comprising a processor, first data indicative of at least one driving parameter of the vehicle, obtaining, by the device, second data indicative of a driver awareness of a driver of the vehicle, initiating, by the device, a driver responsiveness check based on the first data and the second data, and initiating, by the device, the safety procedure if the driver responsiveness check is indicative of a fail of the driver responsiveness check.

  • Patent number: 11305726
Abstract: A restraining system for restraining an occupant of a vehicle, the system including: an occupant supporting device for supporting the occupant, the occupant supporting device has a longitudinal direction along which an occupant is intended to be positioned; a blanket including at least one restraint belt including a first end and a second end attachable to attachment members arranged on either side of the occupant supporting device such that the at least one restraint belt extends in a transverse direction across the occupant supporting device, the attachment members are movable such that the position of the at least one restraint belt is adjustable in the longitudinal direction, an activation control unit configured to receive a signal indicative of a vehicle collision, and in response to the received signal control a pre-tension device to increase the tension in the at least one restraint belt.

  • Patent number: 11260815
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method performed by an occupant protection system of a vehicle for supporting protection of a vehicle occupant in the event of an ongoing or imminent collision. The occupant protection system comprises an airbag panel arrangement arranged in connection with a dashboard of the vehicle, which airbag panel arrangement comprises an inflatable airbag adapted to upon deployment protect lower body parts of a vehicle occupant seated in a vehicle seat facing the dashboard. The occupant protection system determines a distance in a predeterminable direction between the airbag panel arrangement or the dashboard and the vehicle seat or an occupant seated in the vehicle seat; determines that the distance exceeds a predeterminable maximum threshold value; determines that one or more conditions for deployment of the airbag is fulfilled; and displaces the airbag panel arrangement outwardly from the dashboard by means of a panel displacing system.
