Homogenous patient clusters are identified among heterogeneous patient data. Each patient cluster is characterized by specific disease factors that are used to predict disease progression state and rate for patients assigned to a particular patient cluster in accordance with his disease profile.

Abstract: A system and method of detecting Concept Drift (CD) using a Bayesian Network (BN) model may include: receiving a first version of the BN model, comprising a plurality of interconnected nodes, each node comprising a conditional probability table (CPT) representing statistic characteristics of a corresponding domain variable; computing at least one CPT of at least one node of the first version BN based on an incoming data stream to produce a second version of CPTs representing a second version of the BN; calculating a CPT distance value between at least one first CPT of the first version and at least one corresponding second CPT of the second version; identifying at least one suspected node of the BN as undergoing CD based on the at least one calculated CPT distance value; and producing an optimized version of the BN based on the identification of the suspected node.

Abstract: A method and system for genetic analysis of cells or nuclei. For each of one or more DNA sequences in the cells or nuclei, the DNA sequence is labeled with a probe producing a detectable optical signal. A two-dimensional image of the cell or nucleus is obtained that is focused in each of a plurality of parallel planes passing through the cell or nucleus. The number of optical signals from the DNA sequence in each image having one or more predetermined characteristics is determined, and the total number of optical signals in the images having the one or more predetermined characteristics is then determined.

The invention also provides a flushable filter device incorporating the above described element.
