  • Publication number: 20220176154
Abstract: Single-use brachytherapy systems for application of beta radiation to a target tissue, and methods of use. The single-use brachytherapy systems herein feature a cap into which a radionuclide brachytherapy source (RBS) can be inserted and a handle that removably attaches to the cap. When the handle is disengaged from the cap in order to access the RBS, the system is rendered useless for its original purpose, for its use as it was originally intended, for its use as prescribed, unless repaired.

  • Publication number: 20200340893
Abstract: A device configured to capture analytes from a large volume of fluid (e.g. more than 2 mL of urine, broth, or water), concentrate those analytes, and elute them into a small volume (e.g. 100 uL) for subsequent analysis is described. Use of the apparatus for more than 100×-1000× concentration of analytes. Hydrogel particles are specially engineered and designed to capture and retain specific analytes from the fluid and then exclude other, unwanted analytes. The device has three pieces, including a fluid filtration cup, a waste collection chamber, and an elution collection chamber.

  • Publication number: 20200222896
Abstract: Provided herein are assay cuvettes as well as related kits and methods for storing and transporting multiple solid reagents, and for performing diagnostic assays using the reagents held therein. The solid reagents are constrained within separate containers inside a lid of the cuvette. The containers are open to the inner chamber of the cuvette such that, when liquid buffer, reagent, or sample solutions is added to the cuvette, the solid reagents can be dissolved in the liquid to create within the cuvette a mixture that can then be assayed.

  • Patent number: 10159973
Abstract: A sample liquid preparing apparatus includes a first cylinder portion, a cap portion, and a liquid preparation vessel. The first cylinder portion has a first to-be-fixed portion and a second to-be-fixed portion. The first cylinder portion accommodates a first plug and a second plug. A liquid is sealed between these plugs. The cap portion includes a plunger portion to push the second plug and a first fixing portion to limit the plunger portion from pushing the second plug by fixing the first to-be-fixed portion. The liquid preparation vessel includes a second cylinder portion whose internal space is pressed by the first cylinder portion and a second fixing portion to limit the first cylinder portion from pushing by fixing the second to-be-fixed portion.
